Default Car will crank fine, but wont start , known issue?

Trying to get some insight as I am a bit worried a car this young is having this issue. I bought my civic new in April of 2016. The first time it would not start, it sounded like the started had disconnected from the flywheel. You'd turn the key and get a high pitched whine. This morning, the car cranked fine but would not start, its was little low on gas but the car itself said it had 30 miles remaining. The battery tested fine. Both times the car had been sitting for 2-3 days in the garage, and it was around 40 degree F outside. Both times the problem fixed itself that same day. I am concerned the car is going to leave me stranded, I've searched the TSBs and google and have found nothing. The car is stock, has never been wrecked, or taken apart (minus normal service).

Here is the video of the no start from this morning:

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2016 Civic DX since August 2016. It did this cranking thing for 6 times now . The last time was 2 hours ago. To start the car, I put the gas pedal not to the floor but at almost 3/4 of the course.. And then the car is starting normally. I report this to my dealer. I still wait for a answer.

That sounded like the starter motor spun around but did not engage the fly wheel
Check by having someone look at the accessory belt or serpentine belt while you crank.
If the belt doesn't move then starter is beginning to have issues.
Particularly the solenoid or lever

When ti doesn't start, you could try tapping the starter with something just to shock it
It sometimes works to get the starter to work one more time

Just wondering what the final verdict on this was? My 2017 Civic LX had the exact same issue today. Almost the same scenario you had, except a bit colder. I’ve got 25k on mine and after 20 min of cranking then waiting it finally started. I drove for 45 min shut it off and 10 minutes later it started normally. Thanks for the update....if you have one!
