Crack in engine block, replacing engine question
Hi, I own 2007 Civic which is salvaged. I repaired the little damage and car was ok until like year ago when it overheated when my wife was driving. I found block is cracked and added Prestone Engine Block Stop Leak, https://prestone.com/products?detail=AS660Y . It worked fine until week ago . I think my son just did forget to check coolant level and it overheated again , and couple days ago it did it again. Now engine is almost dead. I found about Honda replacing engines/blocks yesterday when I was googling how to replace engine but it is too late - car is salvaged and already out of that 10y warranty., Anyway I would like to replace the engine. My question is what do I need to know in advance ? besides mechanically swapping is there any coding after the engine is swapped? Any advises will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!

There is nothing you need to do with a computer when swapping out the engine the computer doesn't see any difference. If you're trying to save money you can even put it K24 out of an accord an element into the car you just Swap 2 or 3 sensors and keep your intake manifold

Re: Crack in engine block, replacing engine question
if you go jdm r18 engine and tranny swap it's almost a straight swap with one modification
the only mod you need is to grab your existing vtec pressure switch and swap it over and
apparently all of the sensors in the tranny are the same, might be one other mod, I haven't watched this in a while

I doubt his wife wants a jdm Civic and the Accord engine wont fit since the K engines face the opposite direction. Basically just drop in a new engine that doesnt leak (sounds easy right?)
