Default Overheated

I have a 2004 Honda Civic ex, I bought it from my cousin. She said it would overheat when in idle at times, or with a.c. on. My thoughts were that the thermostat or the coolant temperature sensor was out. Trying to minimize money spent. Does anyone have thoughts? Thank you

If it's only at idle, verify the fans turn on. Fan switch is in the bottom of the thermostat. Check fuses and relays too

The radiator fan switch is located in the middle of the engine. It is on the Civic Si that the fan switch is located at the bottom of the radiator. Civics Si are part of this other sub-forum: https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-...-civic-ep3-32/

Is that not the bottom of the thermostat housing? OP Says they have an EX. Thermostat =/= radiator. I own an EX and Si myself.

I mis-read your initial post, my mind was playing tricks on me, I kept reading your post as saying bottom of radiator instead of thermostat.
