Default D17a1 to D17a2 swap fuel injection issues

I swapped a 2001 Lx or a1 non v tech engine for a 2003 Ex or a2 engine. My entire stock A1 wiring harness plugged into all the according sensors on the Ex engine. It has the Lx ECU. The fuel pump is working and pumps fuel all the way to the injectors but the injectors will not work. I can manually engage the injectors by hooking up a spare battery to the two terminals on the injector and I can confirm that the injectors are working. My main relay clicks when I try to start the car. I’m kinda lost after that. I’m not sure if it is the ECU not letting the injectors work because it is missing a sensor but the lx wiring harness should have less sensors than that of the Ex engine due to its lack of V tech. I know the v tech is not necessary for the vehicle to run. I’m not really sure what else I need. I have the ex engine installed and plugged in. I have an aftermarket header that doesn’t have catalytic converters so I do have a check engine light all the time. Does anyone know what I need to look for as far as checking to make sure my sensors are all plugged in right or do I need a new ECU specifically the one for the Ex engine?
