Default Civic 2004 brake pads

Hi guys,

I registered because I need some help. Since 1 year I have a very nice Civic 2004 1,7LF automatic in my posession.

During the last check up here in the Nethelands, they sayd the brakes would need to be changes soon and that they cost some 400 Euros (~450 Dollars). The dealer itself didn't want to give me the exact name and type of brake pads/drums that I schould have for this model.

Could you help me out with this. On US Amazon and similar sites i see tons of different pads that should fit but i am not sure.

Chassis number is 2HGES16574H520708.

Is this any good:
>> Akebono ACT465A Front Ceramic Brake Pads | eBay

>> Honda Acura Nissin Rear Brake Pads with Shims 43022 S84 A50 Made in Japan | eBay

>> Set of 2 Brembo Rear Brake Drums Aftermarket Rear Brake Shoes Honda Civic | eBay

>> Set of 2 Rear Brake Drums Drum Brake Shoes for Honda Civic 1 7L 2001 2005 | eBay

Thanks

I know the akebono act pads are just regular replacement pads. Which are good for just regular driving not racing. I have ebc green stuff brake pads on mine and they work great.

Ok thanks very much. Can I be sure that the Akebono ACT465A are ok for my car? If I buy them on Ebay than there is no way back.

And what about the rear ones? Are those any good? Or do you reccomend others ones. It just for regular driving.

According to an auto store website i checked they should fit. Also the rear drums should work and those wont need to be changed again for probably another 100k since they last a very long time.

from my experience a brake pad is a brake pad is a brake pad. brand normally doesnt seem to matter when it comes to brake pads, what matters more than brand is the material of the break pad. ceramic is the top of the line choice break pad because they are cleaner and let off less dust

Aha thanks guys. I appretiate it. I will then buy the stuff myself and let them put it on. 450 dollar is making a profit of 1000%! Damn dealer.

You should do it yourself so you dont have to pay for labor. It only took me a couple of hours and two sockets, a drill, and a c clamp to do it. Even if you dont have the tools itll be alot cheaper then $450.
