BRAKE PADS
hey, i got a 95 civic ex coupe. in my Haynes, it says to change the or inspect the brake pads periodically, i'm past the 75k mark for it and was wondering how i know if i need to? is there a way to check without taking it to the shop?

I own a 94 civix ex and like every car change the brake pads with they start squealing. The purpose of that metal feeler on the brake pads is to squeal when they get low and need to be changed.

pads are not that expensive at all. depends on what type of brand you are going for. I just get the normal brake pads from my autozone nearby. only about like $15 for both. You only need to change the pads that squeal. I only do 2 at a time when they go out

brakes are the easiest thing you will ever change.....don't worry so much...get a haynes, or helms...and go for it. chiltons manuals are ***.
