Question on taking care of your carbon fiber hood during winter
I am going to be getting a VIS Carbon Fiber Invader Hood and I just had some quick questions. First off, will the snow or ice ruin the cf hood?Second, there are vents in the hood-Can I just put something behind the vents to close it up when it rains so water doesn't get into the engine bay? Thanks.

the winter should take the same toll it does on the rest of your car.. or are you gonna leave it unpainted?

or spend a quick $50-$100 and get another stock hood just for the winter. you don't want any salt or anything getting onto the hood or in the vent

I think UN-PAINTED carbon fiber hoods look great on black cars. I previously had a carbon fiber hood on my car and it got weather damage over time, and the gloss came off of it on some spots. I have since removed it and have the OEM hood back on. I want to get a fiberglass hood though but I'm broke.

all peoples carbon fiber opinions aside, does any one know how to take care of a cf hood during this foul season?

Well just keep a nice coat of wax on it and dont leave any dirt, salt, snow etc on it to long. Wash it a couple times a week and wax that ****.

Re: Question on taking care of your carbon fiber hood during winter (Conjunction)
thanks for the replies guys. I actually am planning on leaving it carbon fiber, but I am going to wax it alot and keep real good care of it. Actually, I might just leave the stock hood on right now and put the cf hood on after winter. One more quick question. Hard hard is it to switch hoods? I mean could I use my cf hood in the winter but when it snows hard or rains, just put the oem one on in my garage? Thanks.
