Hey, I just realized you're the guy with the EL.
Same color as my CL, Primrose Mist Metallic. Or at least thats what I think it was before you painted it. I always get excited when I see an EL down here in California. I love the front ends.
Don't tell me you painted that thing yourself?!

Apparently you missed the whole point of this thread. He was trying something new on a project car.
Do you have any recent pics?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Sorry maybe I did missed the point....what was the point anyways? :shrugs:

My guess is that he painted his car for $50 and a roller, as opposed to $3000 with an airgun and a booth.

Yeah man! I remember ur car because the colour caught my eye on the thread with the angled exhaust.
Yup, but I didn't use a roller, I used rattle cans. Here are pics, after I painted it. I never got around to using clear coat, but you get the idea:
I painted the rear passenger side quarter panel, the rear bumper(was red, and colour matched both of them) and the side skirts and front lip(to gloss black)
The rear bumper:
After I had my accident, but you get the picture:
The lip, and side skirts and rear quarter panel:
up close shots of the rear quarter panel:
This is once I used quite a bit of rubbing compound:

I just read this from start to finish, and I must say, I'm impressed. I thought there would be no way in hell someone could get a nice paint job from rolled on paint, but your on your way. Keep up the good work

I know, it depresses me too. I'm either getting the hookup to put my car back to OEM Jasper Green soon, or ditching the DA and starting fresh with a 98-01 GSR.
Only time will tell.
