Help, My 2003 Honda accord cannot exceed 3rpm
I have an issue with my 2003 honda accord. When driving i cannot exceed 3rpm the car starts jerking and will not exceed 3rpm. Then i decided to stop and put the car in Park(P). Then i revved the engine and it still would not exceed 3rpm. What could be the problem. Transmission changes fine and i keep driving btw 2-2.5 rpm for transmission to change.

Yes the last time i scanned it gave me the faulty Map sensor code but the car was running fine then. But this started just this morning and am yet to get a scanner to scan the car. @slomofo, what if its the map sensor code, where is it located in the car. Can i clean it or i need to replace it.

Map sensor controls the ignition timing. If your MAP sensor goes bad, your ignition retards itself and the car will be very hesitant above 2800RPM and will feel like the timing is off one tooth.
The map sensor is located on top of the throttle body and is held on with two phillips screws. I would remove the sensor, apply a vacuum gauge to the hole underneath it, then start the car and look to see if vacuum is present. If there's no vacuum, pull the throttle body off and check to see the throttle body gasket broke. If you don't have a vacuum gauge, you could start the car and stick your finger over the hole to feel if it's sucking. 99.9% of the time vacuum will be present and the sensor will be bad. Cleaning the sensor does nothing, replacement is the only fix if it's bad.

Re: Help, My 2003 Honda accord cannot exceed 3rpm
Well i scanned my car this weekend and i got 3 trouble codes. All thru the weekend i drove it and i can't still pass 3rpm. This is making driving very difficult for me. Please find below the trouble codes.
P2649 VTEC Solenoid Valve Circuit High Voltage
P0135 Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Primary HO2S) (Sensor 1) Heater Circuit Malfunction
P0141 Secondary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Secondary HO2S) (Sensor 2) Heater Circuit Malfunction
I know the o2 sensor cannot stop the car from passing 3rpm and i've always had that code turned on in my car but i need to know why i'm getting P2649 code. Could that be the reason why i cant pass 3rpm.
Please i need your help techies as its making me go crazy.

yes that is the reason. Again check your oil. If the oil level is correct then I would remove and inspect the screen for the VTEC solenoid assembly. If it is clean then I would replace the assembly.

My engine oil level checks fine. I checked the solenoid and found out that the sensor connector is broken off. So i bought a new one and replaced it and the car revvs fine and has jumped out of limp mode. Now am having new code error
P0962 Problem in A/T Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Valve A Circuit.
Could this affect the transmission cos my transmission D light has started blinking since i had this fault triggered after replacing solenoid.

Clutch Pressure Solenoids go bad all the time, it's located on the front of your transmission and takes about 10 minutes to change. You can get the part at the dealer, they have dozens in stock because they sell so many. The flashing D light is like a check engine light, but for the transmission.
Check the part before changing it though. They go bad all the time, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad; it could be a loose connection (common as well) or a broken wiring harness.
