Crank pulley removal 03 V6
What kind of puller should be used to pull the pulley off the crankshaft, after the bolt is removed? I have a puller, but I'm not sure if it will work or not. Is the pulley hard to pull off? Will I even need a puller? I am gathering tools and tips for my future timing belt job.

99.9% of the time the crank pulley just comes right off no issue at all although the crank bolt is the pita on the v6's 3/4 inch gun or nothing for me don't even attempt the 1/2 inch gun anymore

Re: Crank pulley removal 03 V6
I have the pulley holding tool, and an impact socket. I don't have an air compressor at home, but we use 3/4" drive breaker bars and tourque wrenches at work, that could probably turn the earth. We use them to bolt and unbolt industrial equipment , using 1 1/4" bolts tourqued to over 600lbft (then hammer wrenched). That 8' long 3/4" breaker-bar should do the trick. If not, by chance, I could drive it the mile to work, and slap that 3/4" two handed impact wrench on it. It will not refuse that kind of power. It will laugh at that silly little bolt, hahaha!

Re: Crank pulley removal 03 V6
Well, at least the crankbolt part anyway. I've changed a timing chain, on a 4 cylinder, but this will be my first V6, with a timing belt. I've gotten a few tips, seen some how-to's with pictures, and I have gone through the proceedure in the manual, so I think I know what's involved. There are still a few questions, like what exactly should be changed, along with the belt, but otherwise I'm ready. Another thing is, the kit I bought (from HandA) has the timing belt, drive belt, and water pump, plus the two head cover gaskets, and the little grommets for the bolts. I assume the head cover gaskets are for a valve clearance check, but there are no gaskets for the intake manifold or its cover. The head covers cannot be removed, without removing the intake first, right? Do I need those gaskets, or are they re-useable?
