Busted v6 engine
Hello everyone,
I'm new here but I'm kinda stumped on what to do next.
I've got an 04 v6 accord but got the engine busted when I drove it through water, stupid mistake I know.
I took it to a shop and the mechanics telling me it's better to get it replaced than fixed.
But he's giving me $2400 to get the whole thing replaced with a used 100k mile engine.
I've looked around online and seen the price for the engine alone between $600 and $800.
Is the labor work really that expensive to get the engine replaced? Or is he cheating me?

yes... the labor is that expensive.
you want cheap, you're going to get cheap.
I bet you will think twice about driving thru water anytime soon.

Actually $2400 is a very good price for quality work. Ask them what labor alone is and find your own low mileage engine here: http://www.car-part.com/ Also, get a second opinion.
