crankshaft snapped of can it be fixed.
Hello I own a 1992 civic the other day the crankshaft snaped in half. I am wondering if this can be fixed and at what price or is it better off buying a whole new engine.
Thanks

even replacing the crankshaft will cost more than a "new" used engine. espically a d15
first of all, ive got a couple questions.
how do you know your crankshaft snapped in half? thats VERY hard to do. espically on a stock engine its damn near impossible.

Re: (_gurusan_)
seriously. A stock Honda crank, even a D series, should last forever, and take probably 20psi of boost, stock. Only problem could be SEVERE wear, like a bad rebuild.
Was a oil like fucked up? Cause lack of lube or a spun bearing could contribute. PICS PLEASE!!!!!

Oh...just the snout broke off. That's not uncommon in high mileage engines. Just buy a junkyard motor for $300 and you're golden.

Re: (Archidictus)
I just had the samething happen to me, it beat me out of $1100. Timing belt almost fell off. Thought my alternator went out.. turns out my timing was off from when the belt was done it reversed and snapped the pin/pulley right off causing all belts but the timing to come off.
I got owned being it was sidework, with no invoice. My crankshaft sustained minimal damage.

my pics of the damage are there, Go thru the whole page....
