2008 Honda Accord sunroof won't close
Sunroof is stuck in the open position and it may rain next week so I need to fix this quick...
Sometimes I can hear clicking when I press the switch forward. Some months back I went in to the local dealer and the service rep was able to jiggle the switch and get it closed (because I didn't want to spend the $100s+ to get it fixed)
So I disassembled the overhead console with the map lights, garage door buttons and switches for the overhead lights and sun roof.
There is a video on how to jump a couple of pins to get your roof to close when it is stuck open but the pin configuration in the video is 4x2 and mine is 6x2 with 2 unused pins:
If it is a bad switch I should be able to short the right pins on the plug and get it to close but need the correct wiring diagram to get that to work.
Here is the video with info on the older plug configuration:
Here is my plug and the switch assembly:

Re: 2008 Honda Accord sunroof won't close
I tried the first two solutions - from the door and resetting from the ignition but didn't try the Allen wrench solution because I didn't understand that one.
Neither one worked for me unfortunately.

Re: 2008 Honda Accord sunroof won't close
First check that driver's side under-dash Fuse No. 20 (20A) is okay for the power (+) side.
Next, at the unplugged gray 12P moonroof switch connector, with a small paper clip or wire, jump terminal cavity no. 5 (black wire) to terminal cavity no. 8 (gray wire) to see if the moonroof will close. This will supply ground (-) to energize the mooroof close relay coil to close the moonroof.
If that doesn't work, you may have to take down the headliner to access the 4mm hex insert.

Since rain was imminent and I needed to get it closed, I took it to the dealer and he just installed a new switch which now closes the roof but it no longer pops up. Had I known it was just the switch I could have saved a lot.

Re: 2008 Honda Accord sunroof won't close
Can confirm that my 2008 accord coupe ex-l this worked !! Same problem as everyone else. My was stuck on tilted up (clicking sound) and had to do the reset process over like 3 times for it to go down. I'm content for that as I can't afford to go to a dealership currently. Looks like this summer windows down only!
Thanks Tech8 !
