05 Accord 2.4L Rear Oxygen Sensor?
I'm replacing the rear oxygen sensor on my 05 Accord 2.4L. The new one is giving me a bit of trouble going back in the converter (new one is a Honda part)
Does anyone know the size, pitch, etc. of the converter threads there? I might need a tap to clean up the threads in the catalytic converter. Or maybe I need to heat the converter with a torch before installing the new sensor?
Anyone with experience in this type repair have any thoughts?
Thanks, Steve

Possibly M18 x 1.5 for the O2 sensor bung.

(see post # 35)

Installing the O2 sensor is usually the easy part, taking it out is the hard part. I would not heat the converter before installation.
Was there problems taking it out that caused this problem?

Re: 05 Accord 2.4L Rear Oxygen Sensor?
Thanks for that info -- the M18 X 1.5 was exactly correct, and that took care of the problem.
The front one came out & the new one installed easily.
The rear one came out "tight", even though I used a penatrant. Once I had the right tap, the treads cleaned up easily & the new sensor went right in.
I replaced both sensors as a tune up / preventative maintenance issue. I've seen this issue debated before, but just decided to do it. The car has 174,000 miles, and both were original -- just figured it was time.
Thanks again.
