throttle position sensor help
im swapping out my f22 engine with a replacement jdm f22. the tps sensor is broken on the new engine. it is also held on with phillips head screws which i dont understand, i thought they were only held on with those wierd screw things or whatever you want to call them. so im gonna swap the one off the old engine on to the new engine. i read about some kind of adjustment or something with a voltmeter for the tps sensor. if i simply remove the broken one and replace it with the one off the old engine, will i have to do any kind of adjustments?
well without knowing WHAT YEAR.
.........some of them are riveted on to the throttle body.
So you will need to carefully drill off the rivet head, remove the TPS, get the rivet out, tap some threads in the holes for small machine screws.
The voltage specs setting for idle cannot be found by way of H22, F22A6, GEN or CD7 Bull$hit.

sorry man i didnt realize that year was that important. the car is a 96 accord, i dont know what year the jdm replacement engine is. but like i said the broken tps sensor is held on with phillips head screws (which i dont understand maybe previous owner broke it?) so i wont need to tap new threads. the one on the old throttle body is held on with rivets.
original engine is a 96 f22b2, and the new engine if f22b. i will be reusing the original usdm ecu and throttle position sensor. so i guess what im asking for is the tps voltage specs for a 96 accord.

so when throttle plate is closed it should read 0.5k ohms on pins 1+2 and 4.5k ohms on pins 2+3. then at WOT it should read 4.5k ohms at which two pins? 1+2?

i dont think so by what hondadude said
but since you have a 96 then yes it is the same specs

I'm pretty sure that all Honda Throttle Position Sensors are .5v CT - 4.5v WOT potentiometers.
And in most cases the rivets that hold the TPS to the throttle body are really just machine screws with the heads flattened. It's to keep people from tampering with them. You can cut a line in the head of the rivet to form a flathead type screw and remove it that way. Witch ever way you choose to remove them the rivet/stud can be removed by turning it counter clockwise, it is threaded.

You are mixing up ohms from my post, and voltages from someone elses post.
I use the ohm readings so you can set the throttle closed position, with the TPS unplugged engine and key off.

Hey, if they're both f22b's, why don't you just take the whole throttle body off the old one and put it on the new one? To me, that's much easier than drilling the rivets and aligning the tps. Am i missing anything?
