same old idle problem... again
well to make a long story short i have had the my 94 accord ex for about 1 1/2 months and when i got it i had the surging idle problem. took off the TB and cleaned it and tightened the white plunger/screw down and put it back together and it went away. that was 2 or three weeks ago and now this weekend went on a trip just under 400 miles each way. and when i got there it is now doing it again. but not on start up. i can drive it for a while and when i come to a stop it does it again. turn it off for a min and start it back up and it stops.
my question is do you all think it is a bad iacv or maybe something else?

no didn't check that but pretty sure timing is correct. as far as idle screw it should be fine since when it idles normal without jumping it is at 750 to 1k rpms. so i don't think that is it. not saying it might not be but don't have a timing gun and it is frickin snowing AGAIN so when weather improves I'll have to give that a check and see if it is OK

theres a trick to check it without removing it
i think u unplug the tps and stick your thumb over the hole in the tb that goes to the iacv and if its start idling correctly you know its the iacv
maybe someone can confirm this?

Re: same old idle problem... again
OK finally go around to looking at my car since the weather finally has been decent. (I hate the cold!) anyways to my surprise there is oil all over the drivers side more so towards the firewall. And as i am looking i noticed that apparently on my way back from my little trip when i check my oil i before leaving i never put the cap back on. Boy do i feel like a tard for not doing that. Well to make it even better about a 2 1/ weeks ago i went to a shop to have the brakes looked at because i think that maybe i need to bleed the lines. anyways well the guy that looked at it never tightened down the brake reservoir cap. so when i went to go check the fluid it literally was held on by gravity. so now i have my brake fluid is a little foggy from crap so i use a turkey baster and remove the fluid and replace it with fresh fluid and take it down to a spray and wash to degrease the engine and hood. Anyways my point is now that the oil cap is back on after i get off the freeway and stuff it doesn't surge like it did when i got back from my trip. think it could be related or just coincidence.
of course come to think of it it did happen on the way down there and that was before i checked the oil. there is a small ring of oil around the oil cap i just figured that the previous owner was a tard and didn't know how to pour oil. is there a chance that the seal on the oil cap is bad and the 2 are linked?

honda without oil pressure is very unreliable
with oil pressure it is virtualy indestructable
locosiete theres a way to modify your iacv in such a way that the spring inside will always be tensioned...can't seem to find the link right now tho...

Re: same old idle problem... again
i'm a newb when it comes to this so i'm not sure if you have the same problem... i have a 04 honda accord in south florida and when the car sits for 4 + hours when it turns on it just started shaking... at first drive it turned off the next time it did that for a min the car was shut off and then turned on and it went away,... its getting to the point where it is happening every time is this your problem?
u guys have any idea how i can fix?? sorry to bother you but its my only fam car and have no idea whats wrong.
-Thanks
