P1164 Code, O2 Sensor confusion
I have a 2000 Accord EX 4cyl ULEV VTEC.
About four years ago I started getting this code P1164."Air/Fuel ratio sensor 1 Range/performance problem"
Finally I got an OBD2 reader and discovered that while all the voltages are reporting normal, there is one code that is failing a test, causing the error.
The test is labeled $85 and I have no clue what it is. The only reference I was able to find was in the Mode $06 test chart for 2005 Hondas, but there is no Test ID $85 listed.
So I really can't tell what is wrong, but I know the sensor is the right one and I'd like to finally get this thing fixed. Does anyone know what this test is referring to?

I replaced the O2 sensor with Denso 234-9025. All my internet sleuthing reassured me this was the right one. However, the code kept popping up. I've mostly ignored it and the engine has run fine, gas mileage is normal.Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/p1164_honda.htmlAir/Fuel Ratio Sensor 1 Range/Performance Problem

They want you to send them $85.
If the P1164 is still popping up after replacing the sensor, then it is most likely there is a bad connection either at the O2S connector, relay connector, under hood fuse box connector or even the main harness into the PCM connector. Best to check the harness and connections for damage or corrosion.
