Mystery Bolt Hole
Hello, I recently purchased a 92 Accord 2.2. I noticed a water leak, and after researching where it was coming from I am stumped. It is leaking from a threaded hole near the rear timing balancer. I can not find the proper size bolt for it. M4 is too small, M6 is too big, M5 fit but the only thread pitch I can find is 0.8 and it will not thread in. In the photo below it is the bolt just above the black rectangle in the top center of the photo.

The head gasket, water pump, and timing belt were changed just before I bought it. any help would be appreciated.
Thanx

THIS.
That bolt hole is in the block not the oil pump housings.
Looking up Honda parts via Majestic the bolt does not appear to be available.
See if you can find that tools thread pitch, or just go to a PnP yard and get it off a dead 2.2.
I don't recall the bolt being anything special, thought it was the same as the timing belt cover bolt(s), but it's been a while since I've been under a Honda.

Re: Mystery Bolt Hole
ok were all wrong. i cant believe it took me this long to notice that the reason the balance shaft bolt is missing is because the timing belt is off. your talking about the actually leak at the weep hole. i did not see the anti freeze residue. it was hardly noticeable. im sorry for the confusion we may have caused you

Re: Mystery Bolt Hole
Thepowderblue and MAD_MIKE were not wrong as they thought the OP was referring to the hole with the threads. One of the two weep holes on the pump is shown.
