Single oil pump bolt causing leak?
Ok about 3 weeks ago i changed my timing belt while i had my motor out of the car (new transmission was comming)
i had the incorrect tensioner (i did not know this at the time.). i thought i could remove 1 of the small bolts from the oil pump and see if i could get the tensioner working (the lower hook was hitting the bolt. i thought it was the problem.)
well long story short everything is back assembeled and running but i have this funky oil leak comming from somwhere (dont know where)
could this single bolt have caused a leak? (yes i replaced the bolt, and i didnt use any loctite or liquid gasket to seal it.)

Is oil leaking from the crank/timing belt area? If so you may have broken the seal that seals the oil pump to the block just by removing one bolt. Locate the source of the leak first.
its kinda hard to do that without removing the timingbelt etc.
id rather not do that unless i absolutley have to.
im just wondering if anyone has heard of one bolt causing a leak (only when the car is on, wich also makes me belive its a pump related leak)
if all else fails im gonna remove the bolt and then coat it in liquid gasket and see what happens.

yeah, man that one bolt could have done it. i know it sucks, but if i was you i would take out the driver's side mount, and lower the engine down on that side. thatll make it easy to get to, and it should be a 1 day job easy. id just replace the oil pump, since theyre not too expensive, and seal good w/ hondabond. good luck mang
