Electrical issues
I replaced the head gasket myself on my 1993 honda accord LX, I had to get a new alternator belt and threw it on once I finished the whole job I took the car out for a drive and I heard belt squeal so I decided to loosen the belt and I thought that was the right fix but no. I took the car around the block and I smelled something burning like plastic almost. So I stopped the car turned it off checked connections and went to turn the car on and it was a dead battery, I waited for a while and got the car to crank just enough to run so I went back home and while going home lights were dim and I couldn't go above 3k rpm. I later learned the alternator belt needs to be right so I thightened it and the squeal was gone and everything seemed to be good but every since that happened whenever I'm on a drive and come to a stop the temp gauge acts like a volt meter the more stuff I have on the higher it goes and when I have turn signals or hazards on it goes up and down with the turn signal as its blinking my MPH and RPM gauges stop working, the radio shuts off, and the fans don't push a lot of air but as soon as I start driving and get above what I'm gonna guess is 2k rpm everything comes back to life. I got the alternator tested and it passed at AutoZone and just today I got the battery tested but on the drive home I lost all electronics and smelled something burning again so I pulled off shut the car off and smoke started to come out from the AC vents and then stopped when I disconnected the battery. I waited 10 minutes and put the battery back on and all seemed fine I went to start the car and it started but when I went to do a baby rev the throttle would not go down at all so I turned the car off and checked the throttle cable and it was hot up front and still stuck so I got in and pushed it all the way down and got it unstuck but now it sticks intermittently with a crunching sound. After all that I am still having the same electrical issue. Also side note I don't have a exhaust shield up front. Not sure if that plays a role in this.
