Car died today...strange electrical problem!!!
Well, to start off my car died on me while driving about 2 weeks ago. At the time I was able to start it right back up though. Lately I've been driving my beater but I wanted to give it a shot today...so I was out on the road and it died again.
Right before it dies I can hear like a surge of electricity...the sound comes through my speakers. Then the needles on the gauges will flicker a little, then the car will just cut off. This all happens within 5 seconds. This time I was unable to start my car back up though.
It has no power at all...can't even turn on the dome light. I think I checked all of the fuses, but I'm gonna go back and check them again. But I don't think it can be a fuse problem, since it happened in the past and I never replaced any fuses since then. I do have a small system in my car, but I don't think its related to that.
Anyone have ANY ideas at all?

OK,this sounds like back when they changed youre alternator belt they made it to tight or loose.2 weeks ago when it died the belt was probably somewhat still turning the alternator and charging,it died the battery had enough charge, the car started back up.Today it sounds like the battery had some charge left from the last time you drove it and enough to start the car. This time the belt must not have been doing its job and if you had accesories on the car shut off when the battery reached around 11.8 volts or less. You couldnt start it because the battery probably didnt have enough charge.
Get a jump start and bring the car to my house while its still a little light out and I will fix it for you if the belt isnt already ruined or stretched to much.
Good luck friend.
