What is the diffrence between the H cover and the S cover on a gt40, pics would be great

Default What is the diffrence between the H cover and the S cover on a gt40, pics would be great

Well I would like to know the diffrence and what ppl's choises are. I go my turbo from presicion with an H cover but due to fitment problem with the mani had to change to an S cover, so I'm not excatly sure if the last cover is the S cover here are some pics with the H cover and the S cover.

Any help would be appresiated.

I don't think you would be able to get any measurable difference between the two.

The last pic, is definetly an S cover.

I believe the H-Cover is ported on the inside.

Honestly... neither one would be better than the other. I would go with the H housing personally. No real reason for the chioce.

...what?

Precision does tend to clean up their castings, but I'm afraid you can't really "port" the inside of a compressor housing. you might mean a "ported shroud" but this housing clearly does not have that.

Well one thing that I notice when i got it back with the s cover was the diffrence in size the H cover is huge compered to the s.

Right. It might be a tad bit more efficent at higher pressure ratios is all, but nothing to freak out about. The S housing is much larger than the E housing, yet there is little to no performance difference.

The porting on the compressor outlet on that S housing picture is what I thought was done to the H-Cover. I guess i was wrong.

Precision does that to both housings. They may have even started doing that to the E housing...but mine isn't. Its more of an aesthetic thing though.
