Default 2002 honda accord dash light issue

Hi, I bought a 2002 Honda Accord SE Automatic. It has the 2.3L VTEC engine. I haven't had any problems with the car, until recently.

When I punch the gas(Full throttle) and it shifts at redline, the Battery, brake, brake lamp, and all the door open lights along with the truck open light come on... If I let off the gas and drive normal, they will stay on but when I punch the gas again all the lights that came on, will go back to normal but will flash every 7 seconds or so. It acts like all the doors are open and the truck is popped open, along with the battery light and brake light on.

If the lights come on, I can shut the car off and start it again and it will be back to normal.

I had Autozone plug into to car to see if any codes came up, but they couldn't find any. Wondering what the problem could be. The car runs great, even when the problem occurs.

Stop driving like a maniac.

Is the alternator belt tight?

My voltage is 14.25 from the alt. Belt is tight and doesn't squeal. It happens when driving normal, but will do it more often when at full throttle.

My battery terminals were corroded, I cleaned them and left the terminals off the battery, so that it would reset the ecu. Still having the same issues.

It's possible it could be a loose wire, or sensor going bad, but cannot pin-point why it happens when punching the gas to get up to speed on the entrance ramp to the interstate.

Kinda wish it would throw up a code when it happens but it doesn't. I hate to take it to the honda dealership and they over charge me, when it could be something simple.

The car runs great, even when the lights show up.

Also my SRS light is on, someone said it could be something unplugged under the seat.

I have the exact same problem. The lights goes on when im driving i already replaced alternator as suggested by a mechanic but it did not fix the issue. Have you found a fix for your issue yet?

Before I said, it happens whenever I punch the gas...that's not true. It happens randomly, while just driving normal or at idle....

I never really found the problem. Not sure what it could be.

Someone did tell me that it was a common problem on all the hondas he drove and that it was something behind the dash. He said it doesn't affect anything, so if it doesn't bother you, don't worry about it....

I did install a Cold Air Intake system to the 2.3L 02 Accord and it made the car a little faster, and I got an extra 1mpg!!! Still have the same issue.

Not sure if anyone on this forum will know the solution.

In situations like this the best thing to do is to take it to an electrical specialist.

Check ground terminal G-401. I *think* on the 98-02s it is located on the center console bracing where about where your would be.
It's a big wad of wires that probably get knocked loose.
