@tall kyle: theres alot more work that needs to go into convertin 88-89 lights to 90-91, if you didnt already know you have to cut out of the frame the hole where the reverse lights sit. Along with have'in to rewire through the bootlid, which mightnt be too hard, but mountin' those reverses could be an ***.

I got scamed today. I'm now out a lot of money I dont have.

Gale zeigler and Terry winn tire can eat **** and die.

I went there for them to check out my brakes. They wernt up front about what they were going to do or the price they were going to charge. I dont even know what brand parts they put on it. I only took my car there because I didnt have time to fix it I had to be at work.

From what I gathered over the phone they wanted to put new pads on it which they said would be $140 plus tax. I was happy I didnt need a whole new caliper and disc like I had thought so I said go ahead. They also said the ball joints were loose. Not broken, just loose. They said that would be 5 plus tax. Heres where things get iffy...

They didnt say they would replace them and they said it would be five plus tax. From what I gathered they were just going for a quick fix. I mean I thought they just wanted $5. It turns out 5 plus tax to these guys means $550. There is no way in hell if I had undertood what he was saying would I have agreed to that. Thats just nuts.

I was 100% sure the cost was only going to be about $150. I got a ride to work from my dad and picked up my paycheck. I gave him the money to go pick it up and he was gonna bring it back for me since I wouldnt be off work to do it myself.

Well, about an hour or so later he calls me... He says they called and I said good. He was then like I dont know what you think you agreed to but you're not going to like it. I just about **** my pants thinking it would be double. I asked what was it, $300? When he said it was $700 I freaked out.

I called those ************* back and told them they were wrong. They said I agreed to it. I told them I didnt understand what they were going to do and that there was no way in hell I could pay them so take off the parts. They said they couldnt do that. This went on and he was very rude.

I'm very pissed off.

I swear they even let the air out of my tires those crooked bastards.

not to sound rude, but you should have made sure it was $5 and not $500. from what your story sounds like, they were upfront with everything.

I took it there for them to fix the brakes. I didnt want them to replace anything else. They said the ball joints were loose so I said ok do that to. I didnt say replace them. I didnt know what they wanted to do or how much they cost. I asked him what that would cost and his exact words were "5 plus tax." I'm almost 100% sure of that. He didnt say $500. He just said 5.

What jerkwad. So does that mean your going to have to pay it? Make them justify where they spent the 500 tightening your ball joint.

sounds like they replaced em not tightened.

pSI- i see what your saying. then there was miscommunication between both of you guys. you thought they were gunna tighten it for $5 and they thought you wanted em to replace them by you saying ok.

Its been paid for. I had the money to cover what I thought the cost would be but my parents had to cover the rest. I hate having to have them help me out. I owe them like $600 now.

I filed a complain with the better business bureau so lets see if that helps.

Yeah. I didnt tell them to replace them and they didnt say they were going to so I thought nothing of it. They didnt say they were broken or anything so I figured at the price I thought they quoted me it was something that could be fixed pretty easy.

Well if they said it was loose, i would have assumed they would have tightened em :/. Ive also encountered mechanics that fixed things that i didnt want touched. Was never to that extant tho.

According to my bill each one was $210.58. They even charged $19.96 for "misc shop supplies." I've also never heard of $80 brake pads.
