Normally, I'd say get a c/f roof cap and say bye-bye sunroof, but Composites Fab went under and sold out.

The aluminum mount on the slider track for the sunroof on my 91 Si is stripped out so the bolt vibrates out, causing the roof not to open or close properly. Anyone know of a fix for this? I'm thinking of putting JB weld in there or all over the bolt threads to try and seal it down in there. I can't think of anything else to do. I cant weld the roof to the thing because its aluminum. I could try to put some aluminum weld in there and retap it, but it would most likely come back out off-center...</TD></TR></TABLE>

helicoil it?

I don't get it? isn't helicoil when you rethread a bolt? I thought about taking it up a size, but where can I find another 10mm bolt thats that short with a larger thread size? I could cut a bolt shorter...and tap both aluminum sliders for the new bolts...the other one rattles loose too but has never come out.

I would helicoil it, you drill it and tap it out and insert a thread set that is the old size, use stock bolts and helicoil is stronger than plain threads in alum.

http://www.diamondfasteners.com/inserts.htm

There is some info, only specialtly hardware stores sell them, not homedepot but like a nuts and bolts place. I stripped a bolt in my head on my 22re (alum head) and used a kit and i swear that thread holds the best out of all 8.

Project Update:
This will be dropped off at the anodizer on Monday...

...to be done in black with this...

Anybody remember that black fox body style Mustang on Pinks? (think: true flames...) Anyway, Mickey is putting an aluminum dash in it and having it anodized black, so he said he could "toss" my stuff in with it, free of charge.

Sweet, indeed. He knows a good air brush artist, too. I'm thinking of doing a VC...

A friend of his owns a powder coating shop, so when the time comes, I'm going to have the rear cross member done, and probably a few other things here and there. He's ridiculously cheap as well.

BTW, Clayton, Nash is fast approaching and I think we're taking Justin's Element so I will be able to shove that bumper in there for you. In return, you have to smoke a bowl or two with me.

nice, always a good time. ug, waiting for my head studs, and i'm putting my block in the std.. ordered some epoxy off mcmasters, should have been here today

so now that the engine stuff is kinda done, i'm moving to the interior, i have some recaro knockoffs, was thinking 1 seat, super low, then a steering wheel extension, nardi wood, or a deep dish nardi, nrg quick release/lock, and gauges mounted outside the car,

maybe a 6 point auto power roll cage
