try heating it up with a heat gun and finding something to press it down flat like a 2x4 or something. and clamp the board down on it.

Like everyone else said use a heat gun to get the majority of the bump out. Then go over it with some sandpaper (80-180) or a file to get it completely flat. Notice all the spidercracks before you paint you HAVE to sand them completely out or they will show in the new paint. Not always right away but they will evenetually.

Take it to a proffesional! Dont try using a heat gun because if you get it too hot than it cant be repaired. The bumper repair places uses heat guns but they know what they are doing and their heat guns are temp controlled so they dont melt the plastic. There are many places that do bumper repair and are fairly cheap. Just google it!

Not entirely true. FIxing bumpers are super easy. Even if you melt a 2 inch hole through it, its easily fixable.

Thanks for the help guys. I don't own a heat gun, but a friend does. I may try it, but be very careful.

Does anyone know anything about plastic welding? I'm wondering how hard it'd be to fill the holes for the square for lights on my front bumper. A couple people have recommended it. I would just trade for a different bumper, but with shipping it wouldn't be worth it.

***** ..

you dont have to get it that hot to push the dent in ....and if you used something flat you really couldnt push the "peak" of the dent in
you have to push it a little farther than "flat" to get it completely out.

its not that hot.....having done this SEVERAL times....most of these dudes telling you not to do it are blowing smoke up your *** and just making your life difficult...temp controlled heat gun......i worked in shop that dealt in exotics only....the cheapest car i ever worked on in there was about 60K and we used a run of the mill heat gun.

plastic welding is pretty easy I use black pvc for filler and use a flat blade on my soldering iron
