Karcepts kit is $150 for $10 more he sells the extra peices needed for EF. Theres cutting involved, post #10 and 13: http://www.k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12763

Also Innovative makes a Kseries crossmember.

Bart did the ep3 shifter, but i kinda want to stay incognito and stay in the stock postion. Didn't Ryan get the prototype karcepts? I checked their website but there isnt any info.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Do what composmo did cut and weld steel in to lower it. Imo that carcept isnt worth the 150 when u still have to modify it.

Hasport, HCP or Innovative??

I have heard of some peopel haveing to mod their mount kits to fit properly.

The new Avid stuff looks exactly like hasport for half the price from jdmcars.com on here. I just bought a set with hydro conversion for $275 shipped. In a month when I install my built ls I'll tel you about fitment issues if any...

I love the hasports I have right now...valve cover rubs the hood liner though.

2. loose 10 lbs. (doubt it)
? do the dual buld 91 corners alternate when they flash? so I can just wire the side marker to the bulb that doesnt stay on when the lights are on?

</TD></TR></TABLE>

Good luck with the 10lbs. The 2 bulb usdm corners do not alternate. I wired my sidemarkers so they are on with the parking lights, and blink with the turn signals. I have no idea how the EF9 actually is, but I like them to be on

Wire them to the bumper signels then. Then they only blink when the turn signals blink and are not on all the time.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by civicandy &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I have hasport. The fit and finish is great. I don't know why Mekanism thinks they are machined poorly. I believe they carry a lifetime warranty. I recomend them. Everybody else copied them, so go with the original. Plus I think you can specifiy the hardness of the insert as well. </TD></TR></TABLE>

If you guys were machinists than you would know good machining practices!

Maybe it was those particular mounts that I inspected but all I know is that there were tooling marks all over. They didnt bother adjusting cutter compensation to blend the edges.

The most annoying thing I noticed were the "hogged" finishes left in the mount bores. When you are doing production machining you use endmills called "hoggers" which are endmills that have a whole bunch of ridges on the flutes. These endmills are used for rapid material removal and generally are followed by a either a Carbide or High Speed Steel finishing endmill to acquire a smooth machined finish. Hasport failed to do the follow up finish machining operation which is poor machining practice imo. So by leaving the bores rough like that you can potentially destroy the urethane insert over time with vibration.

Keep in mind these tool marks have nothing to do with strength but if I'm paying $400 for mounts I expect top-notch machine work.

As for Hasport being a family owned company this is true and so is AZ but keep in mind AZ was a machine shop before they started making mounts as Hasport was making mounts before thay had CNC capability. AZ has been in the aerospace industry for years so they know what they are doing!

I'm not trying to knock Hasport as a company I just dont think their machinig practices are as good as they could be!

sorry for the long post!
