Some more motor discussion. In this video, an L15 Fit catches and passes a DC5 ITR at Suzuka. http://f.flvmaker.com/mcc1.swf...x_ti6
Motor Info:
"It's the NOBLESSE Racing Fit, and it's running the stock L15, albeit highly tuned. From looking at NOBLESSE's tuning menu, and assuming the car's got the full works due to it being their demo car, it has about $13-15k in engine work, ECU, etc. in it. There's no data posted on it's output, but I know that Top Fuel offers just head tuning and porting and it makes ~143hp from that alone(w/ tuned ECU), and NOBLESSE is also adding custom pistons, rings, titanium retainers, pushrod bearings, full balancing, etc. over just the head work, so I imagine they're making at least similar results and probably a fair amount more."
When you guys start seeing people swap this motor, just remember I told you it'd happen.

Older Civics. The L has been out since 2001, so they have a lot of aftermarket support, it just has to make it's way to the US. They will be cheap, readily available, and they have lots of potential. The only problem I see is the drive-by-wire system. Many of the newer Ks are drive by wire also, but that can be fixed by using an older TB.

But why? It sounds cool, but for under 300 bucks u can have a d series that bolts in no question asked that can do the same thing. Maybe not 143 that easy, but for 143whp, u have to deal wiht mounts shifter, clutch (hydro-cable ****) ecu wiring. All for that kinda of power , i dont see it happening anytime soon...

I'm just saying it's possible. If you think about it, the mounts, ecu, shifter, x-member, etc are all thing that you want to upgrade at some point anyway. The K (possibly L) series swaps just require you to do it all at once, rather than upgrading later after you swap all oem parts, as you would with a B series.

But b series, makes more power stock, and the mounts im sure hasport isn't going to let go for cheaper than a efb1. Im not talking about upgrade ecu, for most people your looking at a 350 rywire harness. It just seems to me your reinventing the wheel with this swap... Good idea, but practical i think not.

Yeah, the L isn't practical, especially for the price of what it'd take to swap it. There may be other issues, such as the ECU, it may not even be programmable, such as the '05+ DC5 ECU isn't, I don't know. Maybe it isn't even possible. Furthermore, there are 10s of millions of D series on the road, so the supply won't deplete nearly as fast as the B will.
As far as the K swap. If you wanted to go ahead and upgrade everything at the time you swap, you could have daily drivable Honda reliability with as much power as most built NA B series. Granted, you need the harness, if you can't make one yourself, a custom fuel system, etc. It'll still cost more, but maybe not as much as most people may think.

Yep, that really doesn't make sense, considering he even has the harness bar in place.

id almost consider putting those aftermarket gimmicks that the butter-nut wrecked crx had with the SIr front. wayne whatshisface's car. very nice.

Well then where would the takata harness be mounted then? I have the Autopower bar in my car but no harness yet. Where am I supposed to hook the harness up too when I install it this spring?

buy a sparco harness bar.
im sure no one wants to hear what i hav to say but the strap is supposed to be give or take about 45 degrees to your shoulder.
the bar is too high and the seat bracket is too low.
the civic cages have a bar in the right place.
