The length of the shifter from pivot point to hand does not affect the throw nearly as much as distance between pivot point to linkage. A true short shifter has a shorter distance from pivot to linkage. The idea behind the shifter extension is to simply get your hand closer to the steering wheel. That way your hand isn't off for as long and it requires less energy to shift. This is especially important in rally racing.

I understand. I've seen those shifter extensions somewhere else. I'm thinking of getting one. I don't like short shifters though. I had one on my crx and had trouble getting into reverse. I heard they are harder on your shift linkage/shift levers.

I had a B&M in my '00 Civic and had no problems at all.

wow wolf can't believe you sold it. that circuit hero shifter i don't know about it. i'm pretty sure i'm going to get the skunk2 SS w/**** i dont' think i'll have a problem with eating synchro's i'm patient. that sticker is sweet ahha. what is metric hotrods ?
