I'd paint the mirrors and handles. I think it makes the car look a little newer with stuff like that colormatched. I still like keeping the moldings the OEM black, though.

i tend to refer to brad as my voice of reason. im leaning torward leaving them black to match my roof/hood/hatch

yes, my trim and bottom piece are staying black. i dont want mine to look like that assword crx.

ill post some pics tommorow evening of my car and what i did to my chassis and engine harness. im tucking the interior wires too. i know that sounds stupid but its gutted in the rear and i just think it looks nicer like that.

2 questions for the gallery

1. did your SIR t bar bolt hole on teh very bottom line up wth your USDM core support?
2. do you need that vertical piece for structural integrity? my better judgement says its not integral.

my headlight harnesses are a mess from being tepped on and dragged on the ground during towing. can someone with an SIR f ront take a picture of each plug nad what it is plugged into, i.e. your headlight, blinker and blah blah.

the sway bar bolted so nicely to k-sport LCAs btw. this car will be completed with the beast16 for teh february eibach and the real deal 2020cc motor for the big may eibach.

1. yes
2. better support. If the top upper bolts ever decide to come loose you have the two lower bolts to keep your hood from flying up and then you'll be scrolling back 10 pages to debate what we were all talking about in reference to location of a ef9 hood or getting it fixed at a body shop

i think sosme ******* jacked my car up by the radiator support and ever so slightly bowed it up so the bolt doesnt line up. ill jump on it some more.

whatta you guys know about a center dump exhaust by whitfield to clean up the *** end of an EF?

as quiet as a greddy evo exhaust and it dumps before your gas tank.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by WHITFIELD-TUNED &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"><FONT COLOR="blue"> This is something i thought some of you guys might be interested in, basically it is for the serious street racer and or people that compete in the "street" allmotor/ turbo classes. I know that some of the different race organizations require the almotor street class to have a "muffler" in working condition ... this also goes for most bracket cars and definetly "street legal " events.

What we have here is a complete 2.5" straight through exhaust with absolutely no bends. i comes with the JDM itr flange and will fit EG EK and DC2 chassis with exhaust hangers. We will also be making these in 3" for turbo cars... if you like please say so, if you do not please keep it to yourself... and yes you can build this yourself we are just offering it to people that do not DIY. it is louder than a full exhaust but wayyy quiter than full open header (about 30 decibals)..</FONT>

will be doing a dyno test vs open header and full exhaust soon

i like the idea on a strictly race car app...but on a daily it doesnt make alot of sense...
1.) exhaust corrodes and wroughts (SP?) out undercariages quick
proof: I have the same kinda dump on my F150 due to the bags...I can see where its causing issues
2.) in traffic etc etc all those fumes are coming right up through the chassis and window etc etc
3.) see 1.) and 2.)

Well I made a phone call to the fab guy and got a quote on a cage. For an 8pt cage made with DOM seamless is $700. If I were to order one of those pre-fab'd cages it'd be about $600 shipped for DOM, and it wouldn't fit nearly as well as a custom job. The guy told me he's done 5 of the pre-fab'd cages and in every case it ended up costing more then if he'd bent it up himself. The $700 was a general quote, but I think it might end up being less since there is absolutely nothing in the car, or any glass, which should make his job easier. As soon as I recover from Christmas I'm going to tow it down there.

i hate this the most. When i got re-ended and had to drive my car around I could smell the exhaust fumes leaking in from the rear and even being that far away the smell use to kill me.

I'm going to buy some door handles from an EX and have those painted. That way, I don't have to worry about the paint chipping off, since those were painted from the factory.

there happens to be an EX sitting next to mine as we speak....

however i think there are enough painting tricks these days platic bonding agents blah blah that you dont have to worry about that. i think im going to paint the doorhandles and leave the mirrors black for the simple fact that i think it will clean up the side of the car

whatta you know about 3 different keys for the hatch, ignition, and doors and 2 hidden killswitches?

I know about garages, quick releases, and taking my ecu in the house.

Oh, and it'll be difficult to clone Ricky if you don't paint the mirrors.

*edit* About the exhaust, I'm going to do a dump style exhaust where the fuel tank used to be, so the only thing you'll see from behind is the LCA's, sway bar, and ASR subframe brace (when it comes out). I'll use a 40" resonator then some type of muffler, I haven't decided yet. It should be fairly quiet.
