The Official EF Discussion Thread
After your close up shot I see that is not meant for the harness. I know the angle can not be too steep with the harness or your spine can get compressed in an accident. I would probably attach the front harnesses to the rear seat belt bolts

How so? The seat would be higher than that bar anyway. Maybe it's in case you have a reclining seat, so you don't recline too far back and risk getting your head to close to the bar (if you're not wearing a helmet)

its a secondary "hold your seat in place" device in case your sliders are shitty when you get rear ended.
youre both right kinda, i guess.

I ran into an old friend at the mall who is room mates with a guy that owns a fab shop. He builds roll cages, headers, etc. I'm going to call him tonight and see if I can get a quote on a full cage. If it works out I'll just have to find a trailer for my piece.

I dunno. . .I've never personally seen it hooked up, just heard of it and read about it.
"Race Roll Bar - The race roll bar is designed for Solo, Autocross, and high speed time trials. Meets SCCA and most race organization rules. Full width roll bar hoop with two rear support braces, a diagonal cross brace, and head restraint make up this bar."

Haha, I considered that. The thing is so dang light right now I push it in the garage, pop the hatch, grab hold and slide it over out of the way.

Funny it says race, but it there is no harness bar. I noticed in your crx your harness has a steep angle from the seat back to the harness bar.

Thanks guys. Yeah, in my opinion, those are just about the best oem seats you can put in an EF. They do look good in Brad's CRX. I remember seeing them in his car at CRXpo in San Diego. I had just installed mine around that time.

The harness bar is an option.
Regarding the harness angle. . .You are correct. And that is exactly the reason why I'm having the harness bar modified.

The flat bar looks like it would bend if you crashed. I've been meaning to check with autopower on this. I can see why you are moving your bar up. I think my seat is low enough it would work they way yours is

im sorry man i hate to say it but that is wrong. especially if you have a sparco seat. the correct postion is about 18 inches below that which equates to about a 40 degree angle to your shoulder.
jesus ***** christ, why do we do nothing but argue about cages here?
im going to write a rap song about mastershake and his brown dash 4 speed. thats more contructive.

"Race" EF bar for sale
thanks for the info you guys. I thought it was for harness. Now the question is now, is the lil bar strong enough to support a harness in case of a accident??
is the angle the issue or is the integrity of the bar the issue

its plenty strong. its the angle in relation to your SHOULDERS. close your eyes and picture your self being rear ended in an automotive, non-****** type manner.
there is nothing to keep you from flying forward if the belt is almost parrallel or, at a 0degree/180degree angle from your shoulders.
your honestly better off adjusting your harness to reach the floor of your car, right about where your back seat is, if your back seat wasnt there, drilling a couple holes and fastening them there.
coem to think of it, its almost impossible to properly mount a 4/5 pt harness with a back seat in your car.

Since we're digging into the archives, you guys should post any pics you have of EF interiors with full cages. I think the only pic I have is the white hatch with the zc style front, J's wing, and low offset wheels.

minus the gay comment thanks
I get it now. So with that being said, my fake "harness bar" can be used only as an adjustment if I mount in the rear??
Thats the only reason I have been trying to hold on to atleast one of my harnesses but if its totally pointless then I might as well sell the ******* to someone who has a cr-x
hmmmm]
chad you have a cr-x and a autopower roll bar...you in the market yet

Dam i have been searching for days for the leak in my hatch water is still acumulating in the drivers side floor front and rear. I was told to look for something under the windsheild wiper but i forgot what it was. I pulled the stuff out of the hatch and its not wet back there . So its coming in through my drivers door somehow or that front vent. Any suggestions before my rust free std rusts out? Anyone make new carpet for our cars?
BTW Chad you was talking about doing a old school swap. Could you imagine just a stock b16 in this?
