James, I had a caliper sieze up on my '85 Accord one time when I was about 2 miles from the house. I said screw it, I'm driving it home since I didn't want to get stranded again. I rounded the corner on my street and it caught on fire. It burned up the brake line so I coasted into the driveway and pulled the ebrake. Ran inside, got buckets of water, it was classic. The seals inside the caliper had been leaking so I figured that somehow led to it siezing up two or three times.

seems like the right stuff... Green caliper slide greese (i dont know the actual name)
make sure you got some 3M anti-seize(its gold) on the pads, or at least some type of lube... you can even use the same caliper slide lube(i just dont like the way it gunks up)
i would be cautious with those chrome dipped ones.... make sure theres nothing inside where the piston sits causing it to lock up and not have enough play. those seals are a BITCH they rip easy and dont like to sit in right... best bet is take it somewhere and have them put it together, most places shouldnt charge more than 50$ for a honda front caliper rebuild. rear calipers have a lot more peices/seals/o-rings... so there a little more. good luck man.

It didn't want to move. My father-in-law was actually driving it and I was behind him in another car. We did about 5mph that two miles. It was bright red towards the end, but I didn't think it would go up in flames.

yeah i was going to look into that. But Acura or honda don't even sell rebuild kits anymore. You can only buy the piston seals seperatly.
I cleaned everything before i installed it.
I just have to wait for the shop to call me back to let me know whats up.
and yeah I used Dot-3
was told to make sure you don't mix and match fluids

i went through a similar situation with one of my old EF's and it turned out to be my booster. my brakes kept seizing no matter how many times i inspected the calipers and bleed the brakes. i felt like i wanted to drive the car off a cliff.
it was fine when the car is still, but when i started moving/braking it would starts seizing. LOL i still remember my smoke screens on the freeway.
CLASSIC LOOK ON THOSE RNR'S BTW
