"test only" is California's somewhat stricter smog (emissions) check.
You can only take it to certain stations that are classified as "Test Only", meaning all that station does is emissions testing/inspections. They aren't authorized to do repairs or anything like that.
Since Joe has a K20 in his car, that won't pass the visual inspection portion of the test. So, he's looking for someone who will pass his car without the car being present, an under-the-table sort of thing for cars that arent "smog legal" in California.

I do, but its kinda pricey, $180......the car doesnt have to be present, just need your registration and mileage of the car and takes about 20mins depending how many cars are at the shop.

okay.... just figured out my DMV paperwork.
it'll cost me $480 all said and done to have this car "LEGAL". it's worth it to be able to drive an ITB'd K20a crx on the streets and not worry about impound.

I'll let you register it in Ohio for half that.
So how are you accomplishing this legalness? When is the maiden voyage gonna happen?

Holy **** son. You went ITBs. What brought that on? Thats gonna be illmatic. I want to hear some horrible idling sound bits asap. That is gonna be NASTY. Are you getting cams, and such to go with it? I vote F20C crank, 13:1 pistons, IPS Cams, and reving to 14k!
man, where have you been? riding a bike across country or what?
yeah... i have ITB's now. i'm researching cams for it too. but i think that's as far as i'll go. i still want it to be somewhat reliable.

You know me, I like to fall off the face of the earth here and there. K2MK2 if cams are all you are doing FTMFW. You should be good for about 280hp on church's dyno with that setup. Apparently I missed allot. I have been working, and commuting 34miles round trip on the bike. I get my license back in under 2 months now, so time to start working on the car again. I just need to quit modding my race bike, and finish the car.

i'm taking the car to bisi for a tune on AEM management.
anywho..... you should roll out here soon. maybe during the maiden run.

When the salt is back off the roads again I will be down. Realistically about 5mo my car should be on the road again. We have weather to deal with here, plus it gives me more time to work on it again.
AEM, no K pro?
Church is good for numbers thats why I mentioned them. I am gonna get some k2mk2s, and have Norris tune it. I am sure Bisi will do an awesome job, but I like having Norris close out here.
