don't worry
I understood what you were saying
The question was brought up about using b18c1 bottom ends with b16 heads

Yeah I guess there isnt anyone who has done a "ls-v" build w/ a gsr block. When was the last time you heard of a "gsr-vtec" build? I mean with the use of a gsr block wouldnt you have to call it that? Or actually, what would be the politically correct name for a build using a gsr block with a b16 head?
</TD></TR></TABLE>

The closest thing to an ls-v using the gsr block would be to use the crank and rods from the ls so you bump up the stroke 2mm. This setup gives the best of both bottom ends, longer stroke, oil squirters, straight bolt on vtec heads. But this is still pretty far from an ls-v. I'n not sure there are any acronyms for these types of setups yet!

I would call that a stroked GSR block. A "Poor Man's R" would still use the GSR stroke, right?

can some one confirm something for me the sedan is controlled by ground right? i mean the ground is being use to switch stuff on and off ? like for the fans the ground is not making contact till the switch gets grounded right?

im asking cause i want/did wire up the fan so i could give it ground when i want but my battery isnt in the car so i cant test it if it would work.

also i just did that blinker mod for the bottom lights on the bumper but again cant test it.

and i just did this alittle while ago i added another motor to the windshield squirtes you may ask why cause i dont have them spraying my windshild but the are aimed so i could wet other cars lol and i added this one so i could have sepparate control of them so i could wet them at the left and right without wetting both at the same time i knoe iknoe im a ******* but it funny to wet people lol.

Yeah the R is an 87mm stroke like the gsr. I guess my setup with the LS internals and p73 pistons would be called the "poor mans stroked R", except I'm still using the gsr head.

Isn't that all of HT?

I understand what you guys are saying and most of you understand what I was talking about. I was simply pointing out that I had been told by RLZ that gsr mains are the, from their experience, weakest mains of any Honda block. Between those mains and CTR crank pulleys, they have seen builds fail.

&lt;---- Who was planning on using a CTR crank pulley but is having to change plans after hearing that and some research

This is my set up, only I had jdm itr pistons installed for 11:1 honda compression goodness. Poor Man's R....hum....doubtful if you do like I did and have the bottom end worked on. It all adds up, but is somewhat cheaper. Next time I would just buy and ITR motor from hmotors.

i think im actually talking my friend into buying an ITR swap from H motors rather than rebuild his GSR swap.

hes not gonna build it crazy either... just a "rebuild".

to hell with all that time and effort. pull the old one out, put the new one in.

lol. Sounds familiar. All the little gaskets, bearings, seals, etc. start to add up. Plus the ITR has the better valvetrain and cams, intake manifold. Arn't they factory ported too?

they are. i think its a great motor for a daily driver that wants a little extra power.

cheap and easy. and you can still be fast with that swap.
