I've never heard of a booster blowing out. What happens when it does? Oh, and it looks like you had a blast on the track. I can't wait to get mine finished up.

I felt a "pop" through the pedal, then it got really stiff. If you've ever stalled out a car while it's moving, and then tried to brake . . . that's what it felt like. The car still stopped, but not very well. Once I got off the highway (5-4-3-2 downshift) and stepped on the brake pedal at the first traffic light, the car wouldn't idle right because of the vacuum leak. I could hear the air rushing under the dashboard.
Anyway, my friend had an extra brake booster, replaced it, and it's fine now!

I had the same thing happen to me, replaced with DA BB&MC
I will not be selling the EF anytime soon

I might end up selling my shell. I'd love to keep it, but it's not a good investment, nor do I have the time/energy to complete it. I finally found a sedan, which I've wanted for a long, long time. It'll be much more satisfying to actually be able to drive the project. Plus, given the boost in mpg over the old DD, it pays for itself.

Wouldn't you get an EF one anyway? FWIW I remember a guy back in like 2002 using your inlinepro manifold and he was making over 500whp. No need for a change there, you just need a 1.8l bottom end, and 1000ccs of injectors..... Here is his forsale thread:

What about this setup? It looks like you could add a t-bar.

leaning rad ftl. I bet when you dont force air through it (up and down) its diflected off the rad and up into the bay. I think alot of crx have overheating problems due to the ganster lean

Goodluck finding a used ef fullrace manifold. I find the eg/dc/ect one all the time. i dont have 1050 to spend, but a used one is around 600-700
A new bottom why? loose money on mine and build another one (expletive anyones built block, i dont trust anyone but me)
Ill just shoot for 500whp

I'll let mine sit for a few years if I don't have the time/money to build it right now. It's a clean title 88 HF with a really straight body, so I don't mind letting it sit until I get financial things a bit more under control.

Almost been a year since I've driven an EF
I miss it.

I posted that for sale thread for it showed his setup. 509whp with the same manifold you have. If you spend 1050 on a manifold, I will kick you in the dick. Stroke the 1.6, or bore it out. Hell, not sure on your compressor you are using, but you could probably up your injectors, and give your money to Evans, and have him get you in the 500whp range. My friend made 450 with a Greddy kit tuned, by the fucktards at Slowmotion Motorsports in Columbus. He just has a B16A JG built bottom.

Mine sat for 3 years prior to the K swap. Sat for a year since. Last time I lost interest, this time I lost my license.

People don't research enough, there are options out there. Take this rad for example: http://store.summitracing.com/...w=sku

From side to side, it will fit in here perfectly...

Now, this particular radiator is about 1.5-2 inches too tall to fit under the t-bar, but it could be mounted in there right behind the core support (or in front of it). That means a tucked radiator, and the price is great for a dual core, alum rad.
That was my plan for the hatch project, so I thought I'd share since it's not going to happen now. The only difference would be that I'd flip the rad for K series to move the outlets to the pass side.

dude the gate stick all the way to the intercooler and would push my cooler foward and require me to hack my bumper. Trust me i did my homework. Also the 44mm dump tube hits the rad (fullrace rad) so i would need a rad smaller that 14x14x2

agreed for na, plus hte pusher fan would hit the cooler if it was in that area. (my cooler is flush to the body)
