hey guys whats up!?! names josh im from louisville ky. about 3 months ago i traded my beat up bb6 prelude shell for my beloved hatch. the guy gave me a b16a, full suspension, si wheels and a whole bunch of other junk. (has d15b vtec in it now)

my progress in these three months has been

full GSR leather interior
full apexi n1 exhaust
password jdm side markers
tociko struts and skunk2 coilovers
skunk 2 LCAs
8k hid xenon kit
sweet stickers (for laughs)

heres a pic, i dont want to cluter up the thread with a million pics of it. the paint is crazy but thats how it was when i got it. march 1st its getting painted some type of black, i cant really decide and then the wheels are going on then.

between sanding the paint and buffing the paint, I'd thik it's safe to say you've got to be equally as careful on both parts. the trick to buffing is not to spend a whole lot of time in the same spot, if you have a high speed buffer..,

 

yea, i still am not down to do it.

 

well the downside is if you didn't paint it, or weren't there to see it get painted.. you have no idea how much room for error you have.

we did my roof ok.....just scared to do my whole car.

 

you might as well sack up and do it now, I mean you're not driving the car.. you plan on repainting it anyway, no better time to see if you can get the paint right :imo

 

so the painter blantantly lied.... the car is still 1/3 primer today he says he has $5,000 of work into it & needs more money from me, his business is filing bankruptcy (or he is personally) bla bla bla

fyi he saw the car before starting it, & quoted me $3k +/- a 'lil. I paid a deposit when the car was dropped off of $2,000 which turned into $1,800 when his "secretary" called back to say there was $1,900 then called a 2nd time 10 minutes later sayin there was only $1,800. About 3 months ago I gave a good friend $1,000 more to be paid when the car was completed (b/c I am over an hour away) needless to say the painter paid him a visit (3 months ago) & the painter told my friend I said to give him the 1k... & my friend gave him the $1k. it has been 6 months the painter has had the car.

I am debating selling every single part I purchased for this project & turning away for good.

 

I might as well. Ill do it on the hood and see what happens

do you have anything in writing from this guy? like an invoice or anything? he's got $3k of your money, a lack of a result, and has no business asking for more money at this juncture seeing as he weasled the full amount out of you already and no one pays up front for labor.

I think your hood will be ****ed.. the rest of the car I think has a better chance of coming out good than your hood IMO

 

the stock hood? better to learn on that then the whole car......

the hood with the paint peeling toward the top near the winsheild? yes. because obviously the paint wasn't laid down properly there.

 

shitty weather bump for the squad! my hatch is buried in about 4 inches of snow and ice.
