my shift linkage was reallllllly loose and wouldnt really go into any gears. and even if it did go into any gears it still felt like it was in neutral...
so my automotive tech teacher said it was the shift linkage bushings....
bought those and put them on today, still no results its still doin the same thing....
any suggestions guys please help

Not good news..... The same thing happened to me and it was the linkage but on the inside selector to the gears. Inside the transmission. Well that's what it was in my case. Not good news and not cheap..... Good luck.

o man thats weak. I want to go too & am contemplating goin by myself too, but i dont have a car w/ 4wd that i could use at the moment & i dont want to have to deal with chains.

What is your car doing? Im currently having transmission problems myself. My car wont go into gears 2nd/4th. My assumption is either the fork or the syncros. Im leaning more towards the forks though.

lol @ the fact you called me about this before I ever knew about the post.
the shifter is reallllllllyyyyy loose and it wont go in reverse and 5th.. its somthin loose in the tranny cause everything under the car is tight.
Okay check this out. If you could get it into reverse like this you had exactly what I had. Check to see if reverse is on the opposite side. Like where second would be. That's what happened to mine.
That sucks straight up, you really dont want to have a transmission problem and have to take it apart, do you regret buying the car? Its going to be a major PITA to get it fixed, plus what if you have to bring it to a shop! Not a good time to be having to spend money, I hope you can fix it for cheap
