i'm glad your back man....i'm trying to sell my bike or something of that line so i can get back on track with my car. the bike takes away from my thoughts of the car.
Hey everyone!
I know I've been MIA for a while so I thought I'd drop in and say what's up... I have terrible news though...
I got hit by a drunk driver last night at 2 a.m. in the EH. The insurance adjuster hasn't been to look at the car but I have an awful feeling that it is totaled. I don't have any pictures right now but I will post some up tomorrow. I don't know what the future has in store for me and EHs or Honda's, but I def. won't forget about the squad. And, if anyone cares, I'm fine. Completely unscathed.
I hope you all are doing well! Have fun and DRIVE SAFE!!

it's close.. I think it's a loss too, however. the door jamb being so jacked definately puts it over. IMO

oh, no arguement there at all. I've got to admit that doorjamb/b-pillar area held up pretty damn well, considering I've always thought of the civic as a 'tin can' car.

Yeah the insurance adjuster hasn't been to check it out yet, but since it's a '93 and its pretty messed up I'm sure its totaled. I'm going to try to claim all the "upgraded" parts and hopefully squeeze an "ok" amount out of the guys insurance company. otherwise I'm gonna just buy it back and either part it out or swap everything to another hatch or something. I guess we'll see what happens.
i hate drunk drivers i got hit by one a little over a year and a half ago and he still owes me $1700 [freak]ing bastard i will prolly never see that money, good news is my bike should be all back together this weekend crossing fingers i'll post some pics in 2 weeks or so....

Speaking of bikes... I've decided to give up the idea of getting one... I've always wanted one since a kid due to the fact that my dad had one, my dad's dad had one, figured might as well carry on the tradition. Until last weekend when my friend got rear ended which I guess sent him flying forward which ended up him with 4 broken discs in his spine and internal stomach bleeding. I've heard of a lot of stories of friends/friends dying on bikes and closer friends breaking a few ribs, but never anything this bad. This buddy was the guy that let me ride his '07 600RR around a lot and he was all into his bike until now... I don't think he'll ever be the same let alone walk?

yeah i hate hearing stories like this cranberry has had a bad accident on a motorcycle himself, i remember him saying he would never ride a bike again, but i let him ride mine when i was learning and he fell in love and then bought himself a bike, he's seen me almost eat **** on my bike. there really fun to ride but your bound to go down sometime.... the more you ride it the bigger chance something bads gonna happen, just got to be careful of your surrondings thats most you can do... i wish the best for your friend!!!!!!

Yeah I loved riding too esp. on my buddies '07 600RR(bike of the year baby) and almost any other bike I've driven but I've got to consider my future. I don't want to be some 22 year old dude in a wheelchair for the rest of your life and I'm sure you know the motorcycle saying "everyone is out to kill you" rule. I know older guys that have been riding for 25+ years and yeah they still get clipped now and then by motorists in vehicles. I just can't see myself getting on one anymore after my close friend got into his accident.

ok here's how i look at it. i use to think the same way as you. i use to swear up and down i would never get back on a bike. i've seen hella people i know go down or close to going down. Then a co worker that was my age died in his sleep. that right there started my you dont know how, when, orwhat will take you out of this world. then my homie got his bike and he pushed me to get over the biggest fear i've held in my life. it's a fact of life. either you die wondering what if or you die knowing. why be stuck in the what if i had done this? you know you can say it will suck to be in a wheel chair for the rest of your life but you lived to see another day. your friend is very lucky he didn't follow the path of other riders. i wish your homie luck with his recovery and all the long steps ahead of him.

i think it just comes down to personal preference, and self control. i lost a VERY close friend last year. he was riding his bike way too fast for the area he was in, and someone turned in front of him. 5 ft of skid mark is all he had before he hit the side of a suburban at we are sure 90+ mph. i hate we had to lose him that way, it surely wasnt his time.
just be careful when you are out there guys, it could happen to you.
