K yeah everything is finally okay, only thing that is probably bad is my map/O2 sensor, but that'll be taken cared of tomorrow. So to anyone that has built/rebuilt a motor(inside/out) does it usually take the motor some time to catch up to how it was before? I mean my engine feel's like it's gained a lot of power/torque but it's still running a bit sloppy. If that's normal then I shouldn't be tripping but I don't know, all the mechanics at the shop said everything look's fine and sounds fine therefore give it some time to break it. What do you guys think? Cause my hatch right now is sounding like a WRX/STi.

Internals are all stock, running the same cam's as before. And the timing look's good so I don't know what's going on and why my motor is still running a bit sloppy. And why my motor sounds like a ******* WRX/STi, but mechanics like I said told me to just give it time to break in, and the break in process should take 3k miles.

if its sounding like a suby, something isn't right. You need to check your timing, and you should do a compression test and leak test. You might have a fucked up valve. my gsr wouldnt rev/ go past 60 when i was on the freeway, pulled over, and found that my car idled lumpy now, and sounded like a suby. I mean it still pulled, but wasn't the same. Found a chipped exhaust valve. Dont know what cams you're running but you said same as before so im guessing stock, so definately your car shouldnt sound like a suby, break in or not.

Yeah gonna check the timing soon, as for a compression test, maybe. But thing is I rebuilt the whole motor completely, did the whole valve job on my head and everything came back fine. But the car is idling really sloppy so most likely it's the timing...

you didnt do the timing after you put the motor in? make sure you get that checked out....and did you assemble the head aswell? your car is not supposed to sound like a wrx. last time i sounded like one was when a sparkplug wire blew off. 3 cylinders scared the **** out of me. thought i blew my motor. then i saw the sparkplug wire. saved my life.

Of course I did the timing, didn't have time to check it out today cause I was so busy. And naw the machine shop assembled the head for me(well 70% of it). But my spark plugs and wires are brand new so that can't be it. expletive I'm so hating my hatch right now...

i would still do a compression test, wouldnt hurt. it only takes like ten minutes and you would know how close the compressions of each cylinders are to eachother. Did you have the vavle seals and valve guides replaced too? As nate stated, it might be something small that you missed, i wasn't trying to say you have a bent valve, just that the car shouldnt sound like a suby, and used an example that when my car sounded like a suby it was a chipped valve. Good luck w/ the fix.
