Damnit I hate Honda's, even after my rebuild of my B16, I might have a bent valve which is causing my misfire and shitty idle.

my cluster is off about 7XXrpm or so....but it doesnt cold and warm. It actually happened to both my clusters. I know they're off though because the smog machine would read lower.

that sucks Charlie. Did you get to run a compression and leak down test yet? I thought you had an LS shortblock, just rip the head off and throw it on the ls.

its more to it then that....ls pistons are crappy. so swap em out for something nicer like b16s =] you need to plug up the oil galley on the head. which is tapping it and putting a plug in. and also you need to run a vtec oil line. blah blah blah

might wanna double check, if not triple check timing. when i put my LSVTEC in my old eh together, i thought my timing was on, but my car would idle low and misfire alot. come to figure out, that my timing was way off. i lined up the crank pulley, but then when i went to line up the cam gears, i guess the crank pulley moved.

As far as timing an LSvtec, the best way out there is with a degree wheel because of the casting differences in the vtec and non vtec head, it will be off slightly no matter how perfect it looks.

Next, rotate the motor 2 teeth clockwise past TDC on the timing marks. Put the belt over the cam gears holding them even, then rotate the motor counterclockwise tightening the belt on the long side. It should line up perfect then with the crank and cams. Then finally shove the tensioner into place and tighten the 14mm and she will stay put where she is.

After that, if you have adjustable cam gears, that's the best place to get it perfect but it will be close enough even with non adjustables to hold a steady idle.

Hope that helps you a little man, I have torn up so many headgaskets and other things over the years experimenting with nitrous setups and turbos to see how much what would take, I have gotten timing belts down pretty much.
