Okay well Squad I had a long conversation with my Dad last night, and today morning and he decided it would have been easier for me to just get a swap then to have monthly payments of $300+ for an S2000. He finally came to his senses after talking with some of his workers and they mentioned to him countless time's that having a different motor in a car doesn't always mean it's gonna be illegal because there's the opportunity to make it legal(State Ref. station). So my dad went ahead and found a motor for me which is a '00 Integra LS motor, with I think $40k miles on it for $1,700 complete... Do you guy's think that's a good price, I can't get any other motor at the moment cause my dad's worker's told him that's the easiest motor to pass smog so yeah. And I'm just gonna try and get my car a block down the street and get my swap done by Access Motor's, which is one of our Squad memeber's homie's shop. So I guess I'm keeping the hatch after all and hopefully I'll be boosting this summer. LS-T=

lol it took a conversation to realize buying a $20k car isn't as financially genious as buying a sub $2k motor?

LS is nice, boosted is nicer... trying to get 300whp on an LS on the other hand

how many times have you thought about getting rid of the hatch already?
whatever you do to keep the hatch is a good decision IMO.

1700?? damm. I thought with your dad owning a shop, he could get a better deal then that. I picked up my GSR complete for 2300. I picked up my LS long block for $400. I think you can get something lower. Doesn't your pops have like acess to salvage auctions? bid on a car with a good engine but damaged (usually its not that much)...pull the motor from it and then scrap the shell to some place that will take it and use it as a tax write off or something... Good luck with the swap though, bar shouldn't be that hard as long as all the vacumm lines match the same on the way it would be on the teg, all emissions equipment for that motor is on it, and the ecu is the same year, and the motor actually passes smog (thats why i haven't been BAR'd yet )

I don't know when the last time my head gasket was replaced, but I bought my hatch with nearly 120k miles on it and I now have nearly 160k so it makes sense that it gave away.

Yeah my dad is a stubborn bastard but he finally came to his senses...

Dude haven't you seen the LS-T thread? 300whp is very common in that thread on low psi. But later on down the line I'm gonna eventually LS/V-T my ****...

Many times I guess, I've alway's wanted to fall back on the S2K cause it's been like my dream car(dream car in reach) since like I was in 7th grade.

Yeah but he said that's the best deal he got and I need to get my hatch up and running real soon due to the fact that I needa get around to work and whatnot. And we're not about to go on a engine hunt at junkyards or auctions cause he just want's to get it done and fast. Plus most engine shop's charge around that much for a complete LS, it's only forum's like HT that sell engine's/longblock's/block's etc. for cheap. So it really isn't that bad of a price cause I called around local engine shop's and I got quoted like $1,200 for longblocks alone. But for sure I'm getting this **** BAR'd.

For sure. Its not just HT thought...thats all im saying, you can get a better deal. Beacause theres a local engine shop sells LS longblocks for 6bills. But get what you need to get done.
