Offical eH squad list.
You're right, shuffling would probably "work better". But, I've tried to get away from shuffling, so that's why my hand/s try to stay around the 9/3 position.
Have you ever driven in the wet, let alone on slicks? What is to be expected is the unexpected. You say that "I'm scrambling to catch the wheel", well in all cases except one, I did. So, to me, that'd mean that I expected/could foresee the action ahead.
Yes, in the dry, "hammer down" works perfect. The car slides, you get on the gas and the tires "pull you out" of the slide. That works for the most part in the wet, ie. 4:17. But, in the wet, sometimes the front tires will lose grip and push/slide, ie. 5:18.
Expo might be closer to you guys next year. Time to party!

I hear that, I talked to a friend who is close to the organizers, has been to all expos almost. Name was Ryan I believe, Im sure you know him. Was given a hint that it would be close by. Can't wait to do it!
Besides the small stuff, don't "apex" turn 4. You're just adding distance to the track.
T10 is kind of goofy, but I don't see the point in late apexing it. I normally turn in earlier and rotate the car on the brakes, kind of "float" the center. You've got the power to "dig" out of it.
Going into T11, wait on your downshifts. Super hard thing to get over, everyone has done it, I did it. Wait later, save the motor.

turn 10 is tricky. late turn in is what jake taught me and it felt akward to be honest. at wmhm on my own I experimented on t10 and turn in to early and my car push's all the way out while understeering...give it to much gas and I break traction. late turn in I seem to get a bit more rotation on the back and I can wot it 50 yards sooner...I will continue to play back there till I get comfortable...I haven't found a line back there that just felt right...I have hit it a couple times and I was like yeahh baby, but I wasn't recording at the time and didn't quite remember how hit it. but man entry speed felt right, turn in was nice, rear end rotated for me and I was wot out of there so smooth, it just felt right...I will find it again

my big thing is still needed to brake waaaay later....even though im not in the brake im out of the throttle way to soon, idk why but it weird for me to bring it to 6-7k and "cruise" at those high rpms...im used to hit it and get out of it and for racing that means im actually engine brakeing and then I get into the brake to soon, 50% or more of the cornes I felt I was going way to slow into them and wished I didn't brake so much
downshift later...check :D

By coasting i assume you mean engine braking. If i stay into the throttle as in wide open throttle im hitting 130 on the back strait....i have been comforftable at 110...but i hit 110 like 30-50 yards before the first stake....i need to get used to holding the speed till at least the first stake and im super slow thru 7/8/9
"Coasting", not being on the gas or brake pedal.
Yeah, in your video, it shows you lifting at 108mph which is around the porta-potty. Good marker, huh, haha.

I'm thinking about hitting Gingerman one last time this season for their october 25-26 track weekend.
A few pics from Honda Meet this year.

And here's the short bit of video I got at Waterford Hills on Labor day weekend before my GoPro battery died.

Evan is down state at school. It's unlikely that he'll be able to do it, but I'll definitely talk with him about it.
They're doing $195 for one day or $295 to run both saturday and sunday. And it sounds like it's going to be a bit of a party too? Never been there for their last of the season event before.

me either...not sure about it though...I would almost rather take a Friday off of work do a cgi day...$150 9-5pm 6 sessions and then open track 5-9....way better bang for the buck. I know people who have done a few a lot of times there isn't very many people and its just open track all day
The problem with that for me is that it's 3 hours each way. So 6 hours of just transit driving. It's much more worth it for me when I can make a full weekend out of it.
Sometimes when you want it, you have to sacrifice. I missed the track family, so I went all in. haha.
Yup, im only an hour away. I get just as much track time....mqybe more at a cgi test n tune day for litterally half the price. Not to mention waking up at home and coming home at night. Makes a happier wife and camping 2 days ends up costing quite a bit more money between food, camping, partying and so on. Like i said i might go but likely hit up a single day where that track is almost empty....save my "guy weekends" for gridlife and wmhm.
Either way I'm going to have to use a vacation day at work on a Friday. So when it's either 1 track day and then come back home or get down there Friday. Track day Saturday. Track day Sunday. Then come back home. I chose the latter. Especially since I tend to prefer trailering. Highway driving isn't all that fun with a 4.7:1 FD type r trans. Lol.
so i'm seriously contemplating selling/parting out my hatch...
this isn't an easy decision and I have been on the fence for a year or two, I really wanted to see it "done/finished" before I made this decision thinking it would change my mind. I have owned my hatch for over 7 years and bought it as a little stock as stock can be 95 cx hatch....I have literally turned every bolt on this car. I have put in so much time, sweat and blood into this car, I literally went to the E.R. for stiches...lol
I get such a rush everytime I hit the pedal, the strait line is just amazing. and I do this often....but a caged civic isn't very practical for anything but strictly racing. if I kept it it will get fully caged and be turned into more of a track only car. but with a turbo track car you need a truck and trailer and idk....and even then its got no a/c, no amenities, no creature comforts and idk maybe i'm just getting old. I love my car, like love it, its my slice of heaven. its my escape from reality....
so I would only be selling it to make room for a new project. something I feel is a step up from a civic. it will never have the strait line speed my hatch is capable of, and something i'm sure to miss greatly, but from this one downside seem to be so many upsides... i'm looking to buy a s2000.
my daughter is old enough that I feel safe tossing her in the front seat now. I don't have to mod the engine, just leave it stock...stock stock....keeps it reliable. address some suspension upgrade, buckets, some harnesses and of course sticky rubber. im sure this will far out perform my civic at both road racing and autoX. will I have the strait line, no, but I will have a plush interior, a/c, radio, comfort, vert for cruising, and best of all something I can reliable drive to work, the track, meets, shows, whatever....and still hold its own on the track/autoX course
most would say...yeah i'd trade my civic for a s2k in a heartbeat....but i'm torn and this isn't an easy decision for me to make.
sorry just rambling

Got to do you, it's that simple.
If the funds were there, I wouldn't mind having a S2000 to just "run around town". Brandy's wanted one for awhile, the way they hold their value is ridiculous.

well the ridgeline get 12-16mpg's...the s2k gets double that...being that i can drive my car to the track rather than tow it along with the fact i dont have to constantly make junkyard runs means i no longer need a truck...that gets sold...basically i can get by on a $1000 beater civic for winter
im going to try to find a place that will swap me ridge for s2k with out much if any out of pocket
then civic money can go to winter beater and some upgrades

yeah...well im glad im not getting a bunch of hate...yeah my buddy tom (red s2k with the huge cognition wing) who was the one who really got me into this is giving me lots of pointers
engine will stay stock. he already talked me out of nt01's for the s2k...he said go with a 17x9 with 255 street tire like a vII or the new vIII, rivals, or whatever the ones he is running. he took me for a ride and grip was amazing. but it will be on a extreme summer performance tire
mods will be simple to start...safety will be addressed with buckets, harnesses and roll bar...braking with a set of new rotors and most likely dtc somethings since I like hawks, braided lines and I have two brand new bottles of stoptech dot4 sitting here.
obviously the wheels and tires I said above along with some decent springs for a little more performance and a mild drop as the stockers are pretty damn good out the box, mostly just want that 1.5" drop and I will get **** for it, but im going with a gtc-200 wing with 2.5" risers off the bat...that's for me, I need it... not want it, its a need for me
I explained it to tom and he gets it...other than the obviousness of s2k's being tail happy...its image, driving around my "racecar" I cant just jump in something that is so stock, it just an extension of myself and I need it for me. I may take it off at the track, only 4 bolts, to get a better feel of the car but it will mostly stay attached
