Offical eH squad list.
thanks...you are helping a ton!
I sometimes feel like I am overanalizing everything to much while driving. I'm constantly aware of a car behind me. I see if it out of the corner of my eye, I don't have to "check my mirrors" I'm just very aware of my surroundings. as you may have seen I adjust my line to accommodate a pass by...i m mentally preparing a turn or two in advance for the pass by so that I am out of the line most people run so that they can actually just hit there line and go and they are getting the point by almost in advance to know they are clear. like you said mentally thinking about the line. where I'm supposed to hit and making a note when I did or didn't do something right. I guess with time my mental lists will become more fluid.
and like you said braking will come with time....the braking is where I referred to myself as a sissy, I brake very conservatively....I need to be more aggressive as I know the car is far more capable in that department. I'm sure with time.
I notice you took that corner way differently than I was taught. brake before turn in i hit dead center apex and clip the cone on 5, light on the throttle and make a b line strait for the outside pad....right as I reach it turn in and wot and clip inside 6 pad and track out to the pad between 6&7 on the outside. I thin k I explained it right.....that's my mental checklist
during ride along with others it seemed they were zoned out in there own little world oblivious to what was happening around them. like dude that guy has been on your *** half a lap....
the one thing Jake mentioned I need to work on the most is more fluid with the steering wheel....

Don't stress braking too much. Gradually work into it.
Over analyzing everything while on track...
Welcome to my world. haha. Do you yell at yourself yet? Call yourself a pu$$y, etc? haha. I'm one of the very few at a DE that you will see taking notes before and after a session. It is ok to over analyze, it means that you want to learn and you're trying to absorb as much as possible.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind some sort of RWD car as a daily type to just take to the local solo events and thrash!
I'm sort of catching your drift. You should never "pinch off" a corner after apex unless there is a car or debris sitting on the "outside". I sounds like to me that you are not looking up, hence why you are pinching the exit.
When done "right", define right, yeah, it is tough. But, you should always go outside to inside(apex) back to the outside when going around a corner.
So, yes, T7 done right, you should already be track out leading into T8. You said make it as straight as possible, well that can be anywhere depending on where you turn in. I get what you are saying. Normally, people turn into T8 too early which causes a shallow entrance to T9. Like you said, too much weight transfer on a tight radius causes the spin. So, you need to "stay late" into eight to not eat you speed into T9.
This is back when I put up the raw footage, so fast forward a couple minutes.

I looked for you in the afternoon to try to get you to do a ride along with me...
my car looooved that cool morning air though. after the rain stopped the track got fun, I was sketched out...lol, once it started getting a bit more dry I got back into the hang of it. back strait to front strait apex had a big *** puddle that I didn't care for to much so I was taking it a bit wider than normal which I felt slowed me down a bunch...
anyway here it is, I told you I'd get it. would have been faster yet if i was stuck behind the blue civic. here is my best run of the day/ first timed sub 2 sec run

i had brad yelling at me in the back of my mind to track out

hahaha. Always track out!!
We left right after the "rain/wet session". It turned out to be a nice day, but with work, the drive home, and the long day prior, I was ready to be home.
Here is my wet session video, Claudio would enjoy this..

haha. I couldn't pass it up. I WANTED it! Once I saw the forecast, I didn't have any rain tires to use, so I said "the heck with it, as long as there isn't standing water, I'll be fine". What a hoot.
At 5:53, I thought that one was lost. haha. There were a couple of the Team Tuna dudes on the stands. They said they stood up and went nuts when I drove out of it. haha.
The one at 7:20 was about as smooth as it gets. I threw my hand up because I thought that it "blew" the lap. Apparently not, I was happy with the time and headed out.

T10 is kind of goofy, but I don't see the point in late apexing it. I normally turn in earlier and rotate the car on the brakes, kind of "float" the center. You've got the power to "dig" out of it.
Going into T11, wait on your downshifts. Super hard thing to get over, everyone has done it, I did it. Wait later, save the motor.
hahaha. Always track out!!
