Offical eH squad list.
lol. I haven't been here much but let's take the opportunity to catch up.
So I installed my new suspension setup early September consisting of:
22mm USDM 97 R ITR sway bar
ASR Subframe brace (bought from cranberry
)
Function 7 LCAS (bought from cranberry
)
Spoon lug nuts
Buddy Club adjustable front upper control arms
Direzza ZII 225/45/16 and 205/50/16 on the WedsSport TC05
Then went to my first track day at New Jersey Motorsports park which was amazing and lots of fun. Unfortunately the D16Z6 spun a bearing most likely due to oil starvation since I was near the redline during turns 2 and 3 which are very high G, I was turning that section with a slight hint of oversteer as I began to push it more and that's where I think it really started hurting the motor. Aside from the lighting bulb which is a long right hander at about 85mph that didn't help either. Anyways, the car felt great and the balance was super on point.

Now I've been without a car for about a month and with school have been occupied with that while looking for a swap. Luckily my sister works on the way to school so I've basically just have been chauffeuring her to work and paying for gas then driving a little more to school, then picking her up when she's done. On that end it was good since it wasn't much of an inconvenience but my wallet hurts haha. 22mpg on her ride makes me miss my EG lol.
Anyways, I finally picked up a swap yesterday and the old Z6 has been ready to come out other than the actual mounts which I will be dropping today. Next from there I just need to clean up the replacement Z6 and change the oil pan gasket on it before going in. Our SHG meet is this weekend but I won't be able to bring it to that most likely.
So yeah its been a little rough and reminds me how I could just never get rid of that car. I suppose if I had something nice otherwise it wouldn't be bad but I still think it would be a strange feeling. Anyways, should be back up and running soon!
Glad to see everyone still doing their thing!

That's a bummer. Keep at it, it only gets more fun. Just imagine hitting the first curb on the right up the esses at VIR at 110mph. lol. Weeeee.

Yeah, I don't really know what to think about the whole thing. Well, besides, I hope to see him at VIR next year. The track should be faster next year because they are adding to certain sections of the track.
A few things from the "conversation". We will start with he has one track event under his belt, I have a lot more. But, I do remember my first event, I roll-a-thon'd the whole beginner group. I thought that I was "it", until I hopped in my instructors car and about crapped my pants into the hardest braking zone on the track.
There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism, when justified. I normally send my videos to 4 or 5 people. I also watch the video once or twice myself. This session was not my "fast lap" session, but it was the only full session that I got besides one from day one. Due to the conditions, I chose it. Given how I felt that morning and the fact that I was chasing a TTB NSX, I felt pretty good about the session. I kept the gap for awhile, then I got a push in T1 which let him open it up a bit.
Anyways, Claudio has never been to VIR and every person in the comments has. Several of them lived there or at least have tons of time there. It might look mellow in person, but it is a ***** track, it makes Mid Ohio look mild. Guessing from the Solo data, the uphill esses has a elevation change of 75 feet, peak speed for me at 110mph, and over a g in lateral accel. I don't hit 110 in any of the straight aways around here, maybe right at it at Mid Ohio, but I've never used the Solo until this event.
I had several people comment about my speed there. The ITR guys that were there have tons of time under their belt, most on RA1s, and decent amount of time at VIR. I don't know what times there were running, but I'm guessing in the higher 20s. But, a lot of that is because most of us "don't lay it on the line" given that it is a DE. One of the ITR guys, that isn't in "that" group that I mentioned, is a track rat. He has a TTD ITR, TTE old Integra. His dad has worked for Bondurant, several consulting type job, PCA titles, etc. His dad has been on track for something like 30 years. So, Andy has been around the block due to his father's background. I asked him at lunch, after that timed session, what a good E time was. I didn't tell him my time because I wanted an honest answer. He said "uhh, probably mid to low 20s. But, since it is your first time here, if you're below a 30, you're doing good." His buddy was also there in his TTD Civic, similar to mine, but with better gearing. He has a B16 with an ITR trans and a lot of time at VIR. Those two were actually there the weekend prior with NASA, as well. Bryan normally runs 27s, but said his best was a 25. So, once I seen my time, I was pleasantly surprised. But, I wasn't content, I wanted more. The third session on day two, I wanted to try a couple things, but they put the intermediate group in with us using the intermediate passing zones. I got zero clean laps, all with traffic, normally getting held up. Frustrating because there is more time like always.
I didn't really take it personal, it is what it is. I found it more annoying than anything. If Claudio had time there or a lot of time on track, ok. But, that is nowhere near the case. To point out something here or there, ok, but he basically said the whole lap was garbage. Go out in misting conditions that are not constantly in one spot, amount varying every time, on almost slicks, try it. Better yet, just show up, the track will be faster next year. So, you won't have a problem getting into the teens, just like in Brazil.

Me flying past the DC2 was after the checkered, it is explained in the lastest blog post. Joe's car is fast, he pointed me by on the same section and left me, by A LOT. I flashed my brights and he finally lifted going into that uphill brake zone. VIR is AMAZING.

hi all, its been quite some time since I've posted. things are well, car is well....its a project that breaks down when I have too much fun :D
I did my first autocross...I was a bit worried about how well my 7.5:1 huge turbo car would do....surprisingly well actually....well aside from my distributor going bad(at least that's the current diagnosis) causing me to not be able to rev past 5k really sucked but I still had a blast...I deffinatly needed those rpms at this course as it was a fast one but I will deffinatly be doing more of them, as well as hopfully hitting up a road course or two. my turbo although large does spool pretty fast so im not to worried

first time with a go pro....so pardon my noobness and forgetting to turn it off an such...I also have no software or knowledge of how to edit the videos down
also please remember thi is my first autocross ever

thanks...easy winter for me...just fix a few little issues, motor/turbo setup is golden as for now. wanna do some more autox's and maybe a road race day if I can afford it....who know maybe I can swing the wmhm this year. but I am still on cx brakes...there are a couple integras at the junkyard so I may do integra front spindles, lcas and sway bar as well as swap to rear disks off something iirc there was no integra rears but afew civic rears and there was a ls teg rear swaybar. and hopefully with some new bushings to tighten up the suspention
also im going to need tires and I think I finally settled on azenis r615k's ....can handle some autocrossing and daily duties to bad they don't make a star spec in my tire size

cx brakes are tiny... figured a better braking setup would be nice little upgrade. aswell as just some oem swaybars to tie it all together. the rear drums should get new shoes soon and the ebrake cables are stretched and non functional so might aswell upgrade those aswell
as for tires im running a 205/45zr16 but can do a 40 series aswell

Upgrading the front and rear brakes would be a good upgrade for the cost, especially with the amount of power that you have. If you do a rear disc set up, you might want to do trailing arm bushing while the arm is out.

drum's suck and those cx brakes are small.
Have to agree there.
Have to agree there.
yeah that's the plan...replace some bushings....to lazy for all of them/ don't have the patients....lol....at least im honest
that and she is getting a fresh single stage paint job...keeping it white simply for the ease of it. and hopefully my buddy finishes up the front fenders soon. fiberglass fenders ment to fit 8" wide wheels with a 0 offset. they will look sick when done... don't want to get my hopes up incase he bails on the project but he has the prototype almost complete....then he has to make a mold still...
should just be easy busy work this winter...$100 for materials to single stage the car, although that's more springtime, $150-200 for junkyard brakes and suspention parts. $200 for random bushings and some por-15 to coat the suspention stuff in. and my buddy will sand blast everything for me....so a relatively cheap winter aswell
now let me ask you guys a question with regards to tires.
I need something sticky enough to not send my screeching sideways like these proxie 4s do on highway runs but I need more than 3k miles out of a set of tires...I also need to stay budget friendly.
what are your guys thoughts on azenis 615k's or the federal 595 rs-r ...I have had several people I know local that hated neogens so im not really considering those....heres the catch, im trying to stay with a 205/45 or 40 r16

Brad do you recall if this is your friend from Ohios integra up front? I was going through the pictures I took and I think it's his, he was instructing my buddys group.
