scored a sparco bucket seat and gsr brake booster and master for 140. seat wont go in till after i get my roll bar. but none the less pumped up.
yeah, tell me about it.
my alternator starts to take a dump sunday. i had yesterday off, so i didn't drive it. luckily a had a spare, but i gave it to my friend last year. lol. he has like 6 cars now, so he told me, i got you. ok good.
well, i leave for work today. everything is going well, then the tach and mph needles drop. oh crap, hopefully i make it. i pass one of the salesmen at work, i thought i should pull over. but, i couldn't, so i kept chugging. i get on this bridge and it starts cutting out. it is done, i start downshifting and after 3rd gear i put it in neutral. flashers didn't work and obviously, i couldn't brake because i would lose speed.
i coast off the bridge and pull over. luckily the coworker pulled over and i had my jumpbox. i jumped it and he said he would follow. we get to the light and i knew that the battery was about done. i make it about 4 miles and luckily coast into a gas station. at that point, it was game over.
a very frustrating way to start the day. puts you in a mood, where nothing else really matters. i just want the junk running at this point.
weight does play a big role in rental karting. i have talked about it before, i gained 80lbs and lost a second and a half at our local track. it is also track dependant too, at expo this year it was a long and fast track. i was the only person to break into the 1:06s and there were a lot of people there with rental karting experience. ryan conley was second fastest and i weighed 100lbs more than him.
from the looks at it though, claudio ran very well considering the lap record. very short course though, i'm going to google that track lay out. seems like the dudes he was running with couldn't handle mr. HeBeKartin'. putting almost a second a lap on second place, ouch for those guys.

i'm guessing you ran track 1. it also looks as if it is a 2 level track.

No I was probably the heaviest one or maybe 2nd heaviest. I went with my 2 friends Rafael and Saul. They went last week for the first time but this was my first time karting ever (something my mom shoulda allowed me to do back when I was 7 but it is what it is). We did 1 race and took a 5 minute break. I was surprised how much strain it puts on your muscles. I was mad tired after that 18 lap race. I started in first but got passed on the first lap, my kart was fun but it was much slower than theirs and even though I was driving very well and not sliding much I got lapped twice so I knew something was wrong. Just smoked in the straights lol.
Then we had 2 races that we decided to do mend together and these other 3 guys joined too, also their first time. The grid order was decided by name and so I started first in both sessions. So on the 2nd/3rd race(40 laps) I started with a different kart. The kart I used at first wasn't used on the second race so no one had that slowass kart. I was running 17-18 sec laps with that one.
So we do 2 warm up laps under yellow and off we went. Being in first meant I had clean lines and whoever was behind me was caught sleeping at the start so I had no competition whatsoever. I never got passed the entire race lol. HeBeKnowing about racing lines haha.
After a few laps I starting lapping everyone. 44 was mad slow, lapped him mad times. It was so much fun and scary with the different kart because it was a good bit faster. The uphill left was off camber with a sharp left after so turning at full throttle was wild, almost into the wall many times. I lapped the 2nd place driver twice and his kart couldn't of been that much slower so def a lot of skill there. Its hard to gauge since some karts are faster/slower but I feel I was on point most of the time.
I did manage to catch up to Saul towards the last 5 laps and he was giving me a run for my money. I know for sure our karts were close because I wasn't catching up with him on straights. Only when I took a better line or built more speed/less sliding. When I would get close for a pass I had to back off to not get closed off at corner entry. I managed to inch my up later on and force my car too far left of him so he couldnt close me off.
The other highlight was when I was sliding and trying to get as wide as possible to carry more speed and came close to the wall lol.
The best was when I cut 3 people on the fast uphill off camber left turn without touching anyone. That was dope.
Saul is an mma fighter and he weights 160 too like me and Rafael weighs 125 lol. Been skinny forever.
Def fun but for the 75 I spent its a once in a year type thing lol

Lolzzzzzzz hahahaha
during my lunch break, i grabbed a coworker and a new battery. off to the sedan we went. we got the new battery in and he followed me back. it didn't miss a beat, so i wonder how many days i was just "running" off the battery.
the thing i am most pissed about is missing the gym. i got a good thing going, but then to miss on the "worst" week of the year. i have got to keep my act together on thanksgiving.

a b series with nothing in there is a breeze. probably 10 minutes for removal and install. look inside of a d series with a lot more going on. i have never done a d series, but rumors are that i might have to take out the half shaft to get to it.
Ive done about 3 alternators on d series on my own car and a few on other friends around town. You should be alright homie.

That is the rumor, but it is not true. I unbolt mine and wiggled it out. It is a tight fit though. I also modified my lower bolt so it no longer uses the factory bolt, but a bolt/nut/washer because it is easier to manuever once it is slightly bolts and swivel it to tighten it up.

cluad you were the heaviest? really? man you look like you wiegh a bout a buck fifty. just saying. i had fun in the karts but i felt like a big man in a little coat.
Yeah i was gonna start this week but target is really ****ing with my life since black friday they open at mid night. So I'm just going to get thru this week and start on monday and get with the program. I need to also get into a good sleep pattern down thats whats really killing me right now.
It can be a pain to take it out the top, but it will come it just need to be fiddled with, the master is in the wat, dropping it in and out of the bottom is the easy way....no need to remove your axle
