Looks similar to the one a coworker is going to give me for 40-50 bucks. I have a 94 EG so my stock steering wheel has a airbag. Is my check engine light or anything going to light up if I put a steering wheel without an airbag in?

 

Yes, you can take the bulb out though if youd like.

it would be a srs light. i took my whole system out, so it doesn't throw a light. that is all i have, i would guess if the srs unit sends a signal to the ecu. which in turn throw the light. gabe or hbk might have insight depending on their model year.

 

My srs light is on in both my integra and civic. It does nothing. Thats why I said you can take the bulb out if it annoys you.

 

I've taken my stock wheel out before and my light stayed off. It wasn't until I took off the cluster plugs that the SRS light came on. I tried resetting it last night but it didn't do anything so I'll have to see what to do. I could just pull the bulb but would rather reset it.

I believe it needs to be all hooked up to reset it and mine was so I dunno.

I threw on my Spoon wheel last night and mines a 92 so I only have a drivers side airbag so it doesn't matter if I just pull the bulb.

In your case though I would want the passenger side airbag to work still and I'm not sure if it would work with the light on.

You can wire up a resistor to it so that the system keeps the current and that makes it think its hooked up. Get a digital meter and measure the ohms and then get a resistor that matches and that way the light will be off. Ask Evan about it, he did it on his EP.

He really needed to get home...On the topic of the srs light. I did the same **** as egeezy, removed the whole **** and the bulb for extra weight savings. No sense in having all that crap in there if you don't have an airbag.

there is one on the front lip. lol. but, no i don't, i have been out for awhile now. bad side is, i think from now on i am going to have to sell them. which i doubt anyone minds, but it is something i/we have never done before. but, in our bmx days they were free through a family friend's parent's business. now i don't have that luxury. i have been watching a lot of bmx lately. here is a good video.
