i understand what you mean by feel, but you still can't have some hp+ with wanli tires and step on the pedal. you will most likely lock them up sliding into the car in front of you. on the other hand, you can have some duralast poop pads with some r888 and step on them. the pedal might feel "soft", but you will stop. the tires have rolling resistance against the road, not the brakes.
yes, see last sentence above.

Wanli's are pewp.. I can say that now without taking offense since I sold the Cobalt.

However I feel that the decision here would be something like some all seasons such as the Kuhmo Ecsta AST vs some summer tires like the S.Drives. I went with better tires than better brakes, but I drive my car and enjoy the cornering grip. Kevin wouldn't be doing any of that so I think that having brakes that feel firmer and that he is more confident in stopping with, is a slightly the better choice. Not to mention the tires would last a lot longer than summer tires. IIRC arent AST's one of the best all seasons offered nowadays? The grip level isn't bad by any means for street driving. It is inferior but were not talking Wanlis vs R comp. They will stop quickly just fine in an emergency. Thats just how I feel but anyone feel free to state your opinions if you like.
Good morning
yeah, your points are valid towards all season tires. but, your examples of brake pads is just the same as the tires i used. i used wanlis and toyo triple 8s to show the point. i don't see hps in the same boat as duralast pads. i don't know the duralast or oreilly line, but a better comparison would be better a duralast gold and brake best platinum.
Nice beamers.
Serious note, Im getting a squeal when im driving. Mainly on turning, but randomly during other times. I get it sometimes when I hit bumps, but nothing is always definite. Wondering what you guys may think it is. Tie rod?
