Then why did you mention both trunk brace and subframe brace in this post?....
As you can see you clearly mentioned both of them. There was no mistake, this was your assumption to mention it. Since DC2's have them.
The stuff being said here is not to put the car down, as it is a good looking car. This is just to prove myself to people who think I have no clue what I am talking about and trying to pass their stuff off as ITR's. I could care less if it was or wasn't an ITR, it's clean and that's all that matters. But here is the evidence stacking up against you so far:
1. Intake hole - It has already been established that the intake hole is NOT on any ITR, in any country! I have parts books from 96-00 for DC2 and DB8, that will clearly show that no ITR had the hole...EVER! Then there has been a link posted from a honda website also showing the same thing. So unless Honda doesn't know their own cars, then that says it all. But I will continue with the evidence.
2. Was just shown up above - You specifically claimed to have the rear trunk brace and the subframe brace, assuming that they would b/c DC2 ITR's are known to have them for sure. That is when I called it out as DB8's never having them in any year!
3. ????? - I can pull other's out if you want to. But if you really want to prove that your car is an ITR, post up a picture of the JDM VIN on your firewall. Since you offered to put up pictures of whatever I need anyways. Once I have this, I will confirm or deny the claim for sure.

WOW.....thats hardcore info right there.

I... AM... NOT... MAD!!!!

But seriously I am aware that some reputable shops (I'll leave their names undisclosed) have for sure gotten items that say Gunuine. Only thing that we (honda community of many people) know for sure
- Obviously fake items (poor replicas) have been sold in Gunine packaging
- Some shops have both Genuine and Gunuine items with no real explation
- King has yet to make any kind of statement on this issue of the brand they are the SOLE north american importer of
- Mugen has been packaging products with the correct spelling for over 20 years, why would they make a typo now?
With that said, is there a possibility of a typo? Sure I suppose. Am I saying that ALLLL parts in a Gunuine pack are indefinitely fake? I don't know, I don't work at the mugen factory so I can't say for sure, but neither can anyone else. One thing I can say for sure is that some (if not the majority or even all) Gunuine items are undoubtedly fake. My reccommendation if you really want to know anything that the mugen thread doesn't know, write a letter to mugen japan. I'd be more than happy to give anyone that wants it an email address of a mugen employee who speaks/writes english.
</TD></TR></TABLE>
WOW what the expletive. I thought what I'm about to say was common knowledge, and there's a couple of certain people who can definitely back this up.
Mugen mis-labeled a batch of parts, not exactly sure of the release dates of them but I remember them being 2002-2004 sometime, and the replicators from China/Hong Kong replicated that bad batch, SO technically you COULD but it's a far fetch... have some real parts that say "GUNIUNE" But being so long ago it wouldn't likely happen as most of those are in circulation already.
I'm really surprised that this thread went 3-4 pages without this coming up...

I must of missed those couple of hundred posts and 15 threads. Im asian...slanted eyes and all.
So general consensus is by one person on the internet who has come to the conclusion that they are not real. Great. I guess I'll have to drop by Mugen next year to get the real answer.
Thanks anyway.

Thanks for the info.
As far as I can see I have gotten 2 shift ***** from a reputable source in the same shipment. Both MT shift *****. One came with the "Genuine", the other with "Gunuine". Looking and observing side by side, there is no difference in quality or any type of flaws. The machining on the **** are exactly the same down to the laser etched emblem. So if this was a replica, it is a pretty damn good replica. I believe these are the latter batches as they are both stamped with M-TEC. Mugen was renamed in 2004 correct?

If you're talking about weaksauce as being reputable there was a big debate over them selling replica pedals and shift *****.

Actually it went 621 pages without this being brought up, I've read every single page and I've never heard this 2002-2004 thing before. I would believe that the replicas may have replicated a typo label, but again that's kinda my point, FOR SURE the replicas have the Gunuine packaging. Seems weird that 4 years later people are just now coming across these packages on a regular basis...

I was gonna look up their statement earlier but as I said I decided to leave the dealers unnamed so as not to compromise anyone's integrity. It's definitely really cool of them to admit fault and take responsibility for what happened.

That wouldn't really suprise me though that these items are still showing up as new. Hopefully Mike at King can chime in on this but, I bet alot of those parts have sat for a long time at a warehouse before being bought and shipped. For example my front sway's instruction sheet had a time stamp of 1999 on it and I bought it last year. Just a thought.
