That wouldn't really suprise me though that these items are still showing up as new. Hopefully Mike at King can chime in on this but, I bet alot of those parts have sat for a long time at a warehouse before being bought and shipped. For example my front sway's instruction sheet had a time stamp of 1999 on it and I bought it last year. Just a thought.</TD></TR></TABLE>
It's definitely possible. I'm just saying it's strange that no one noticed this trend up until mid 07. I have personally spoken with dealers and they have only within the last few months received Gunuine parts. Maybe mugen themselves just sat on these parts, only seems to be on smaller items like *****/caps/pedals etc. If someone from King would care to comment it would definitely be very helpful. Regardless if you have a part that says Gunuine on it and you got it from some random dude for half the normal price, you probably have some illegit stuff.

Good point. I would bet it's most likely a combination of both ends "sitting on the goods." Here's a random pic I found of Mugen warehouse. Surely all those didn't sell overnight. I'm liking those AP1's in the background.

You just beat me too it on the smaller items. I was just about to say that too.

WOW what the expletive. I thought what I'm about to say was common knowledge, and there's a couple of certain people who can definitely back this up.
Mugen mis-labeled a batch of parts, not exactly sure of the release dates of them but I remember them being 2002-2004 sometime, and the replicators from China/Hong Kong replicated that bad batch, SO technically you COULD but it's a far fetch... have some real parts that say "GUNIUNE" But being so long ago it wouldn't likely happen as most of those are in circulation already.
I'm really surprised that this thread went 3-4 pages without this coming up...</TD></TR></TABLE>
When did you come across this info btw Corey and whom did you hear it from just out of curiosity? Because only a few months ago you were on the same page as the rest of us...

Yes, the OP posted these for sale in the Mugen thread or somewhere else some time ago as well... Some way you can tell the fake from real:
1: Some of the holes in the gas pedal are off on the fakes.
2: The color of material is slightly darker on the clutch and brake pedals, on the fakes.
3: Genuine Mugen is spelled "Gunuine Mugen" on the fakes.
</TD></TR></TABLE>
This was taken from the now locked thread that AFAIK started this whole "gunuine" mugen thing begin with,..
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2071403
Prior to that thread I don't think anyone had ever mentioned anything about it.

I know of a few shops that have real pedals that say that, I'm mostly interested in why it took so long to surface and what not because what started this thing were poor fakes. Then for a while everything with the "gun" labels were said to be fakes, which is clearly not the case at this point in time. But this just makes it that much harder for anyone trying to buy something second hand. I suppose it not really a big deal, buy from trust worthy sites, but again there have been some stores in the past with a good rep that were in fact selling fake product.

so you gonna buy from Hung and KING only. funny cause you sold fake mugen pedals to a few peeps i know and your buddies at JEM sells fake fugen parts mang.</TD></TR></TABLE>
you always know a buster *** hater from thier comments.
They hardly ever post until someone they don't know yet don't like post and directly comment on their comment
And then you never see from them again until that person they hate post another comment that they feel they have something some what relavent to say.
I was selling those Pedals for a reputable shop
I only sold 1 set of those pedals
before you try to discredit me get your fact straight.
And your comment is out right dumb.
Why was I the first one to publically post the fact about the box on H-T if I was so "gun-who" on providing everyone with fake pedals
I even used my own pictures.

One thing about the whole "gunuine" this is this.
We are purchasing these items from shops whom have licenses to buy whatever they want from whomever they want with business aspect @ mind.
Let pretend we have shop A.
Let pretend shop A is a reputable shop whom have been selling Name Brand parts.
They are not a authorized distributor but they carry these parts. Where do you think they order these parts? Pretty Much anywhere even from the Manufacture @ cost. Let say while searching for new things to feel their shop with the run across a Chinese/Japanese Dealer whom have items for sale a little lower then what they are get the parts from @ cost from the Manufacture. From the business aspect this is great for shop A because that means they can make more money selling these parts @ the same price they were selling them for before. Shop A does not realize that these parts are fake. They receive these items and start to sell them. If shop A did the research before stocking these items the fake items would not be circulated to the general public. This case can happen by mistake. Nothing they can do about it, because they were not directly purchased from M-Tec. (9/10 a shop is not going to directly tell you where they purchase the items, because realistically who cares, so no one bothers to ask)
There is also shop B that is doing this, although they know these items are fake but don't care. They are only their for the money.
All I'm saying is yes even a reputable shop can have fake/replica items if not careful. It not like they are purchasing rotas. These are small items. Because of copy right laws (if followed by the person making the replica) the replica can not look exactly like the real. They have to add some sort of detail to make is somewhat different then the real. Even a mi spelling or small flaw as this can be detrimental to the sale of the replica items. They still need to make money, so they try to keep the flaw as small and unnoticeable as possible. So unless you had the replica and real side by side you would probably not be able to tell the difference.
Which is the whole point, because they won't these replica to sell as like they were real.
Buy direct or from a authorized dealer or some1 you really trust.
Times is shady now a days and everyone is out to make a quick buck. Even me, **** I make gunuine CF48 center caps
but I let people know before they buy them.
