If you look up (I put it in bold letters) you claimed to have the rear trunk brace. Can you please provide a picture of it...... The reason I ask is because DB8 ITR's never had that brace! Not only do I own one and have seen firsthand, but I have seen Honda parts books for DB8's up to '00! That should cover your '97.

I got my shift ***** at a REPUTABLE MUGEN DEALER. And no...I dont read every single post in this thread. So I guess I was living under a rock and missed that one post that says GUNIUNE's are fake.

This is a debate that's been going on for a while. I have heard from some reputable sources as well that some authentic parts are coming in GUNUINE packaging but this has yet to be proven. The general conseus started by Vega_box is that they are not real. We have definitely seen some obviously counterfeit parts (oil caps, pedals, shiftknobs, lp bolts etc) in the GUNUINE packaging. As far as I'm concerned, until King Motorsports posts a bulletin on their site saying "Hey mugen jacked up their spelling" I'm going to continue to write off anything in a GUNUINE packaging as fake.

So general consensus is by one person on the internet who has come to the conclusion that they are not real. Great. I guess I'll have to drop by Mugen next year to get the real answer.

well my car has the rear subframe brace, no sound det. material on the floor, and no pad under the carpet. It also came with the rear trunk brace. The car does however have a hole on the driverside.

My car did have the org type-r stickers on the rear doors when i got it.

Im wondering if type-r's made for other countrys like NZ or europe are the ones with holes or not, but as for my car being a real type-r, it is and I will stand by it 100% untill someone can prove me wrong with hard evidence other then a hole that everyone knows nothing about.

As you can see you clearly mentioned both of them. There was no mistake, this was your assumption to mention it. Since DC2's have them.

The stuff being said here is not to put the car down, as it is a good looking car. This is just to prove myself to people who think I have no clue what I am talking about and trying to pass their stuff off as ITR's. I could care less if it was or wasn't an ITR, it's clean and that's all that matters. But here is the evidence stacking up against you so far:

1. Intake hole - It has already been established that the intake hole is NOT on any ITR, in any country! I have parts books from 96-00 for DC2 and DB8, that will clearly show that no ITR had the hole...EVER! Then there has been a link posted from a honda website also showing the same thing. So unless Honda doesn't know their own cars, then that says it all. But I will continue with the evidence.

2. Was just shown up above - You specifically claimed to have the rear trunk brace and the subframe brace, assuming that they would b/c DC2 ITR's are known to have them for sure. That is when I called it out as DB8's never having them in any year!

3. ????? - I can pull other's out if you want to. But if you really want to prove that your car is an ITR, post up a picture of the JDM VIN on your firewall. Since you offered to put up pictures of whatever I need anyways. Once I have this, I will confirm or deny the claim for sure.
